I put a 0.119 bit in my battery electric drill. (Use the bit size you prefer) Put the bit it in backwards, so the smooth part was out. I masking taped one end of my kanthal wire to the drill's chuck (spinny part that grips the bit) to hold the wire. The other end is gripped in your fingers and guided into a nice coil as you SLOWLY run the drill the required number of turns. Go a quarter turn farther then you need as it will spring back a little. The coil was awesome and I got to use electric tools in the process!
I got this idea when my son mentioned people are using craft coil winders to make micros. Same idea but I had the drill and didn't have the craft coil winder.
