This was posted to utube 12/7, but I don't know when the story actually ran on WINK.

Well, at least it is not anti, but it still had stupid. They news show gave 8 people expensive E9 type ecigs to try and see if they could quit smoking. Problem is the liquid had no nicotine, so it was purely an oral fixation prop. They tell people they will have to use nic gum or patches in conjunction with the ecig. My guess is they were pressured to do that, and they didn't mention that ecigs generally do contain nicotine. WINK ran 3 stories on them, and while they were blunted, they were not negative and they didn't mention the same old FDA talking points.

Overall this is a positive story.

First YouTube upload seems to be from July 2009 (at the YT channel of the company featured in the clip). So, this story certainly dates back to a time before FDA’s July 2009 media stunt. Perhaps a bit naive from todays perspective, but actually quite refreshing to see a feature that once tried, within its limitations, to be genuinely curious and investigative. Demonstrates pretty well how the climate became shaped, when compared to media features of more recent times (which more than once were nothing but an unloading of spoon-fed talking points).
