I like how the article mentions that nicotine stimulates the release of dopamine. This is supposed to be why so many people who suffer from various mental illnesses self medicate with nicotine.....and why even the healthiest among us sometimes experience more of a feeling of well-being and relaxation from our ciggies. Good article. I also found some good info on this site: ww.healthnz.co.nz/. (I can't post working links yet, so you have to add the extra "w")

"Without blood tests, it is difficult to confirm whether nicotine is reaching the bloodstream,"

I wonder this too. Has anyone quit analogs completely and had tests (home or Dr, insurance...) to see if the nicotine shows up? I am curious. How long should one wait after being off of analogs to test this? I think drug stores have at home nicotine test kits.

ETA: I guess swabbing the cheek or blood (maybe) would show it more than urine if there was a doubt about it hitting the bloodstream.
