A Report on E-cigarettes from CBS4.com
Electronic Cigarettes May Be A Safer Alternative - cbs4.com

Though this story comes across as positive, however the statements made is exactly the kind of ammo the FDA wants to use against us.

Where do these people get thier information is what I'd like to know.

It is my belief that this story was purposely spun in a positive approach with knowledge and intent to do the E-cig industry harm with these kinds of statements.
It is either that, or they are bluming idiots who do no research into their story, including the supplier they interviewed.
Anybody ever hear of this guy?

Edit: It is the remarks about it being a safer (Healthier) alternative that I find disturbing.

good clip but did anyone notice the second guy shown he wasn't actually inhailing? and he also said 1 cart = 1 pack yeah right we all know that is bogus, and he also said 3,000 chemicals are in analogs vs 4,000 that i have seen everywhere else...and if the second guy was the creator/maker of that one...then why did he seem so surprised that it worked? it was a good/bad interview...showing njoy and smokig everywhere the 2 most expensive for what you get..i just wish people would research a tad bit before reporters go out and find the one guy in the mall that is doing it.

anyone know if you can ask a news source to where it gets its facts or information on how to contact people that they claim as experts .. Tbob might know the answer to this

Some quote their sources in the story. After watching and reading it again. I believe they stated Smoking Everywhere stated on their website that E-cigarettes are a safer/healthier way to smoke. I never visited the smoking everywhere site until now, and I could not find that statement anywhere. I even watched their website video/commercial. They make some comments about the dangers of smoking real cigarettes, but stop short of saying anything that I could find about the E-cig being safer or healthier, however the subliminal message is their. But that is completely different than making a actual claim.

Basically, once a story has been broadcast/published, it's yesterday's news and no one in the newsroom cares about it anymore. Sorry to have to say it, but it's true.

Most items posted to the Web now have a "comments" section below them so Joe Public can blow off steam. Those are read only by other Joe Publics who sarcastically scream at each other IN ALL CAPS. Reporters sometimes read comments for shared giggles.

In the newsroom, they're hard at work on upcoming stories on a return of Swine Flu as a killer pandemic in the fall, a kindergarten kid who aced the SAT, and a grandmother who was killed while distributing food in a ghetto.

So goes the downsized news biz today.

Yup - you can infer anything you want......that's the way the advertising game is played...just don't actually promise anything you can't deliver.

Personally, I like the moniker cleaner....that I can back up with solid, unarguable facts.....I'm not tossing butts in the trash, no carbon-particulate clouds from burning tobacco, no ashes all over the world from same....and the person hearing this can infer what they like from the statement.

Why not? It is a safer (healthier) aternative. Don't worry about "what FDA will do or say". Anyone here who has been vaping for a year or more? How are they feeling so far? It's been 41 days for me and I feel great! No more nasty coughs and sinus problems, etc.

Anytime you make a health claim on a product, this gives the FDA the right to regulate it. (We here should already know this.) Look at what happened to Cheerios.
I for one have moved on to harder drugs than Cheerios, I now abuse Sugar Smacks! LOL. Point is, we can't afford to be supplying the enemy with more ammuniton.
For this reason the words safer/ healthier should not be used when referring to an E-cig.

It is ok for us draw our own conclusions, as common sense tells us this is so. But when have you ever seen a Government entity use common sense?
An E-cig is an alternative to smoking; nothing more, nothing less.

Back in old days, the government, police chiefs, judges were owned by the mobsters. I see the repeat of it today in form of FDA, Pharmas, CEOs, Corporations, Politicans and even Religion organizations. Amazing, isn't it?
