Heya,

I've ordered a bunch of 30ml plastic bottles of eliquid from companies, and noticed varying levels of fullness. Some basically go up to the label, whereas as some are filled to the very top so you couldn't squeeze out air if you wanted to. The bottles appear identical, but in some it looks like 1-4+ ml of liquid isn't there. From one vendor there looks to be a few milliters of difference just between bottles. So my questions would be:

1. Am I missing something? Like are 30ml bottles generally actually 35 so most vendors actually do put in 30ml, but some just fill the bottle up to be nice?

2. Is this something anyone cares about, or is it considered normal? If so, when should you care? Is 1ml just normal variation, but 3ml being not up to snuff?

Thanks for your help, I wasn't able to find much searching and googling.

I've noticed this too. Its not something I really worry about though. I think most of it is companies using various equipment/techniques to fill their own bottles, that would lead to a variation in the amount. Also some companies are probably more precise than others.

I do have a syringe and a couple empty bottles I may measure it in a few minutes. I'll report back how much actually fits in the bottles for you if you like.

the glass 30 ml I use for my diy actually comfortably hold 35ml.
If that's the case then I would say the plastic ones have to be pretty full to hold 30ml I'm looking at two side by side now. Apparently my girlfriend sent my bag of bottles and syringes to the abyss and we can't find them.

Looking via eye & measuring they appear to be identify, the same types you can get on ebottles and such. It's possible they are a different thickness of material, though they seem to feel the same... that's an interesting thought when it comes to differences between vendors. I don't have syringes or graduated cylinders to accurately test it all out, but figured this has to have come up in various ways. I remember seeing a pbusardo vid where he got 5ml in an 8ml bottle so assumed it was shorted) but for one vendor the fill lines were very different on two different bottles so I'm trying to learn before I spout, which is also new for me.

Now my post above assumes that my glass bottle and eyerhere's glass bottle are the same size it definitely would hold more than any of my plastic 30ml bottles. Eyeballing it I would say around 5ml more.

As I stated before its not something I worry about too much because it seems to be standardish. Every bottle I get varies some come topped off completely others are just above the label. I just always assumed it was variances in measuring and filling and also the person doing the filling.
