Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
So the question is do i vape for enjoyment or the nicotine hit huh .

Actually neither really , it's something to do , keeps me occupied . If i wasn't such a horrific DIYer i would enjoy it more i'm sure.

I was going to open up my own e juice company , "Barely vapable e juice inc" but realized i would have to come up with a juice that was vapable before jumping in , seemed too much of a hassle .

I need it all. A little nic, some great flavors, hand to mouth and visible exhale. Plus the whole hobbyist tinkering side and collecting shiny things.

I think @RainSong sums it up rather nicely.

I started vaping to quit smoking (more than once), with the eventual goal of being nicotine free entirely. I started with a relatively high level of nicotine, then I started tapering down my nicotine levels. I vaped fore a while at 0 nicotine, then I quit altogether. I didn't vape or smoke for about a year or so before I went back to cigarettes due in part to stress. Now I'm back to vaping. Went though the cycle again - high nicotine, then tapering off. I'm at 1mg in my ADV currently, with a couple 3mg-6mg juices for times when I can't chain vape like normal while studying (going back to college at later time in life). I'm probably going to stay at that level for a while, simply because I enjoy it and I have absolutely zero desire to smoking while I'm vaping. I've just started the journey of DIYing my e-juice and I'm amazed that I can make 30ml of juice for less than $1, and I'm having fun testing new flavors and making them my own. It's turned into a hobby as well as a practical way to stay off of analogs. At this point I don't see quitting vaping in the near future.

I have to wonder why it is such a "big deal" for many of you to lower your nic intake?
That wasn't a big part of the equation for many of us when I started so I wonder why it is now?
Do you on some level, believe that nicotine is addictive or harmful so you have to "do away with it"?
If not why are you lowering your levels?
Congrats on being 90 days smoke free Riplea!

I don't know that I'll ever bother to lower my nic amount, I quit at 6mg and have been doing great at that level. High enough to know it's there, low enough that it doesn't seem to interfere with flavor. I mix liquid for myself, the hubby and my sister. I find the flavor comes through better with my 6mg than their 12mg. Maybe I'll try 3mg eventually but that's more out of a desire to hoard my nicotine than any bad feelings about the chemical itself.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get a buzz from vaping. I thought I was just weird (well, I AM weird, but you know what I mean). With my first inhalation of smoke each day I'd get that buzzy feeling, but I've never had it with vaping, even when I tried some undiluted 36mg once. o_O

Undiluted 36mg?

100mg is diluted about 10:1. ;)

And on the right setup IT WILL give you a buzz.

Ask me how i know. o_O

I understand the buzz....power smoking 3 cigs in a 15 minute break then stand up and try to regain your balance. The only buzz I got from vaping was my body telling me I got a new atty and its delivering better also that I'm building coils that are too good so its time to cut the nic back some. Now with the using of claptons, more multi wire builds and dabbling a bit with SS and nickle wires I'm cutting my nic down again from 9 to 6. Been vaping 9 now for almost 2 years but claptons and other multi wire builds for @ 6 months now and getting a light head if I inhale a good pull, if I just mouth vape(not inhale) I'm ok but one can't always do mouth vapes without the accidental inhale.
You said the multicore wires, claptons, etc, that your doing is making you reduce nic, is it because those type builds produce more clouds, thus more juice, thus more nic? Or do think those type builds just concentrate the nic more and your actually vaping the same amount of juice as you lower nic?

My only reasonable answer is that getting a better delivery system caused me to lower my nic level from getting headaches from a nic buzz. I spent my first couple years building spaced single wire kanthal builds(26-32 gauge) since I don't totally understand the concept of microcoils and their value in vaping, did try a few but never liked them. I did a few 2 wire twisted builds and liked the vape but always reverted back to single wire.
It wasn't until I received TFV4 kits in Oct 2015 from a coop that came with a clapton coil installed in the RBA was one of the very few factory coils I have tried and I thought claptons were a gimmick build... I was wrong. It literally blew my mind to how great a vape it was. Today I vape pretty well nothing other than single core claptons with a few twisted core claptons. I built my wife a spaced 1.6ohm 28-32 clapton she vapes on her P3 and won't vape another single wire build.
Just a couple weeks ago I won a wire prize of several spools of SS, nickle, some premade claptons that are 2 different wires and a few alien claptons that are too big for any of my attys. I had never considered stainless or wanted to bother with TC...again I was wrong. Stainless wire in TC is something great and planning on a SS Temco order soon.
Bottom line is my body tells me when its time to cut my nic which corresponds along with better attys and better building. I learnt not to inhale those cloud hits and take smaller ones if I'm going to inhale.
I began DIY a couple years back cause the commercial juices were parching me badly especially once I acquired the subtank minis with ability to handle bigger lower ohm builds. I began shelving the kayfuns and protanks. The subtanks forced me to drop my nic from 18 to 12 and now 9 with these clapton builds. Juice consumption isn't a issue so I don't keep track but I will say I do vape my fair share with no outlook on slowing down, some builds are mighty thirsty vaping a tank in a very short time. I have already built a couple 7 nic juices to see if I begin to coddle my hitter and so far with these SS builds I'm going to drop my nic again to 7 or 6.

I often wonder if a certain tank or build is more efficient in delivering nic in an unseen or unknown way to other tanks or builds, but It could just be a simpler answer in that bigger builds with more power, direct lung inhales just produce more vapor. Because one is inhaling much more vapor, one is absorbing more nic and thus the need to lower. But I think one is really not lowering nic in a sense because they are ultimately using more juice, so I think the body knows how much nic you need in total and figures it out . So maybe it's all the same, one who vapes 20mls per day at 6mg or someone who vapes 5mls per day at 24mg. Regardless I'm glad you found that happy place that keeps you vaping and not smoking
