I just purchased an epic storm VV with 18650 batteries.
My old ecig was a smoketech 18650.

While i was charging the new batteries I put in the batteries from the smiketech.

If I use smoketech 3.5 ml 2.5 ohm cartos the epic storm shuts down and the batteries have to be taken out and put back in to restart it.

After the new batteries charged I put them in and it works fine.

It works fine with any other carto I have with either battery.

And all battery carto combos work fine in the smoketech ecig.

So is it a batterie issue, carto issue or ecig issue?
Is there a difference between the batteries used in VV 18650's and fixed 18650's?

Any clarification or input will be helpfull.
Thank You

It sounds like you are tripping the protection circuit on the battery. A boost circuit requires some amps... the protection circuit is there to keep the battery from putting out too many amps. So, they shut down.

IMR batteries are generally what is used in boost regulator mods. Protected li-on batts are generally used in mechanical PVs and often with buck regulator mods.

As six said, the protection circuit is tripping on your batteries. Your Smoktech 2.5 ohm cartos are most likely dual core which require more current and why they are tripping the protection circuit more than your other atty/cartos.

Your Epic Storm uses a booster circuit to get more voltage than a single battery is designed for, a high drain battery is recommended to use with booster circuits because they can provide higher current draws.

IMR/High Drain batteries like the ones linked will work
