Maybe you should have made a separate thread just for the contest like other companies do and label the thread as non discussion picture contest. Just put the rules in the first post and let everyone put up their pictures with no discussion. That way it will be easy to view all the pictures. You could choose the winner by which post has the most amount of likes. All that could be explained in the first post of course. Just an idea that may be junk but I thought Id throw it out there just in case.

I might do this. I'm only allowed 2 open threads and I might open another thread for the new USBaux.

I guess maybe we can consider this as a entry to the contest-thing, maybe. Sure, why not. :)

Was just messing around with some springs and a rotary tool and came up with this. Whatd'ya think?

'Course, it would look a lot better with some brass caps on that tank. ...

I am really hoping that the V2 will include outside threads to accept an ego cone. I do not want to use the mega ego atomizers (I am strictly a 510 or 306/DCA guy). The cut off cone I use with my DCA would really make for a nice set up if only the pipe had the outside threads to accept it. Having a stem which would fit up to a 510/306 would be icing on the cake. I know Matt can do this.....I hope Matt does this, although he has not responded to any of my e-mail requests. I really want an epipipe mods pipe, but I won't be buying until this option becomes available.

Use an adapter, works seamlessly for me

Sorry I must have missed your emails for some reason...
eGo Threads have been offered on several, not all, of our pipes for months now.
We also carry 2 different stems that work with 510/306 with a cherryvape universal.
Peterson and churchwarden universals.

The new V2 pipes will come with external ego threads.
Although, I still recommend a drip shield over a cone any day.

Oh,
Matt, in my picture with the AFS v2 and my Ergo pipe. The AFSv2 has a native 901 connection so i just used a 901 adapter to fit it. As for the UFS adapter, i own a UFS to 510 adapter which i bought from someone who made a few in the UK. I believe it will work as it sounds though i do not have a UFS at the moment (at the time i had a line on one and it fell through). Im not sure if anyone is making them any more and it took me a little sleuthing to get a hold of one.

Anyways, enjoy the day!

And, a blast from the past ProtoPype playing nice with an up-to-the-minute 306DCA:

Vapian, you the man!! Thank goodness for forums and the great people who use them. So how in the world did you get this to work. I want to do similar. I have a black DCA306 but I dont know what you are referring too as up to the minute DCA. It seems you have something else in the top of the DCA other than just the Cherry Vape adaptor. What are you using to connect the DCA to the cherry vape adapter. Or however it is lol. I have a peterson stem sitting here doing nothing until I can figure it out hehe.

Well, there's not much to it but I do admit that it took me a little while to wrap my head around the right combination of things to look better on the ePipes. For the last pictured ProtoPype combination:

From tip to bottom, as it were:

1. Peterson pipe stem (Churchwarden would also work)
2. Cherry Vapes Universal adapter (came with the stem, I also have extras)

2.a. Several #6 O-rings from Lowe's plumbing department are stacked on the Universal to make the "gap" more attractive.
2.b. You can also use a length of screen door extension spring of the right diameter like I did with the Bubinga egg pipe. It's tricky but it can be cut to length with a rotary tool.
3. Black anodized 306DCA top adapter
3.a. Universal just slips in the top piece. If the fit were loose, a bit of the bottom of the Universal could be cut off so it inserts with a tighter fit.
3.b. If O-rings or a spring are used for Universal "trim" decoration, enough gap has to be left at the bottom for the Universal to fully fit into whatever you're sticking it into.
3.c. Also take into account situations such as a bit of a carto body sticking out of a tank; O-rings can be added or removed, or you might need to cut multiple lengths of springs for different combinations.
4. 306DCA bottom piece
4.a. Screw in & adjust in the usual fashion.
5. Modified eGo cartomizer cone, cut to just below the top of the atty connector
5.a. At this length the modified eGo cone works well with tanks, drip shields and the 306DCA.
5.b. An eGo cone also works well with other large and small diameter cartos; just cut it down a bit at a time until it fits over the diameter of the desired carto (like the first picture of the Bubinga egg a few posts back, where one was cut to fit a Dual Coil Mega XL carto that's about 11mm in diameter).
5.c. One or two sections of silicone carto cap are on the atty connector for the modified eGo cone to thread on to. This is demonstrated in an ePipeMods video recently linked to a few posts back.

That's about it. The o-rings and springs and such are just decorations so the Universal is not as unsightly. I imagine it would also look good with a number of different types of wrapping or sleeve material - small sections of pipe, maybe some twine or leather cord. The o-rings are nice because they can easily be added and removed to cover just about any gap.

Another thing I ended up doing was turning just a smidge of diameter off of one of the stems -- I think it was the Churchwarden -- because it wasn't fully seating inside a Universal. After getting the diameter right it works like a charm.

Hope this helps!

Wow, thanks for the detailed response. My problem is the top piece of the DCA it WAY to big for my Cherry Vape adapter. It just falls right out of it. I cut another one already in the past but the fit still wasnt great. I might try to dremmel it some more. The o'rings are a great idea. Ive used them for several other things. The springs are genius. Nice job on your DIY work my friend.

Hmm. Do you have the full DCA adapter kit or just the one? If you have the kit it might be worth seeing if the Universal fits the other adapters any better. Obviously that doesn't help you with the one you need, but if it fits the others then the one may be "out of spec" and maybe GSV would take a look and/or replace it for you.

If the fit is WAY too loose, you might be able to place a short tube of carto end cap on the end of the Universal and try inserting it into the DCA top piece that way. That may not be ideal, but the silicone should be inert and not too sensitive to heat transfer from the atomizer. This is the same technique I use to get the stems to fit into the larger 510 Mega XL cartos.

If a full "sleeve" is too big to fit, you might try a partial one by bisecting the tube into two pieces. The seal might not be "air tight" that way but it might be tight enough to work. The only real problem with this method is that the Universal would be slightly off-center, but that may not be much of a problem depending on how you fit your bits together.
