Fresh off the lathe. These have their initial dye job and have been CA stabilized.

Hey Trip, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the Mad Hatter pipe just yet.
I am thinking it may be sold as a set with the tea pot.
This mod will probably end up being fairly pricey as well. So far I've got 12hrs of work in it and it's not even done yet.
Which is quite a lot of time compared to an average pipe (or my previous free hands for that matter).

This pipe may be the first of a new line at ePipeMods...
I'm thinking that some of the free hands that I do will be complete 1 offs.
Never to be replicated again. The reason for this is the time involved + the high price tag...
I thought it might be nice for the buyer to get something completely unique.
Also trying to replicate something that came out of a fleeting artistic moment is... well... a PITA.

I'm sure that thought will not sit well with some people but it may be the direction I go.

That's more than reasonable and love unique items...I love owning functional works of art within the pv industry (nitpicky pv addict).

That sounds excellent.

That will sit fine with me and my in-queue order. I just meant the general style of Storm in the Caste but I didn't expect you to replicate it. I actually assumed it was a general style and mine would be different with the same basic flare.

Did I goof? -Magnus

I know that might have seemed redundant as every pipe I make is "one of a kind".

Tripster- Glad you agree with my logic :)

Magnus- about the replication- Generally if some one asks for a replication I do my best to achieve as close a result to the
original as possible. So I am glad you mentioned this. Now I can take some liberties :)

lrd3- Consider me freshed... Looking forward to the re.

I am surprised by everyone's response, (here anyway). I have a feeling once I post the "one of a kind" line on the site people might start begging for replications...

Mmy father was a tattoo artist. Some people wanted "matching" or similar tattoos. But most of the clientele wanted something no one had. I can look at alot of custom things and enjoy them. But if I want that piece bad enuf I can deal with the owner. Lol,,, no need to duplicate

I've done a few tat's myself. My brother and I tated each other... all original stuff.

BTW, Thank you for your review lrd3. I think of all the reviews out there right now yours is the most in depth and revealing review about our pipe mods. I really appreciate it :)

It wouldn't be art otherwise! Liberty away but if I get an Egg I might *cringe* ;-) -Magnus

I've been wondering, is it possible to put the button on the side of the pipe? So where your thumb would be when smoking a real pipe:
joel-smoking-pipe.jpg

Like, cut out a piece of wood on that side, and make it into a button using your woodworking and electrical wizardry?
Yes it is possible. However It's more complicated than it sounds. Personally I prefer our pipes to be "mechanical" in nature, rather than "electronic". Electronic switches an PCB's are prone to fail and that is what is required to build a switch like you are describing. I have been tinkering around more with this idea since the technology for e cigs like the eGo are becoming more and more reliable. It's hard to add these electronics that may fail to such an expensive hand made PV. I would want to be sure the electronics could be as easily replaced or fixed as our current mechanical set up.
The other issue is the size. Although the technology gets smaller and smaller... It's still too large to fit into a pipe like the one you have pictured (which is roughly the size of our current pipes). The shank size would have to at least double. which would make the pipe disproportionate and thus the bowl would have to be enlarged.
I am currently working on several different ideas that may solve these issues. But even if I do develop a pipe like this, I'd prefer to vape our mechanical version.
Stay tuned though It may come sooner than later :) I am always working on new mods...

That was great man. I've been watching their vids and any vid on ePipeMods I could find before finally taking the plunge and this one still helped me get a better feel and close-up of function. Thanks, -Magnus

Yeah his review is full on... Pretty much leaves nothing to question.

Again great job lrd3, It's nice to have reviewers out there that give more than just an opinion...

So my camera battery was dead today... But it's charging now so tomorrow is on for lots of WIP pictures.

Also I hope you guys are ready for a wild ride of new releases over the next 6 months.
Things are shaking up pretty crazy here at epipemods and the cork is about to pop.
If you think we are crazy now just wait!

A brief mention of things to come...

Cigars!
Pipe Sauce and Atty Marinades
New pipe designs, styles, and functions...
and a mod so desired by consumers and vendors alike I dare not mention it's name:censored:
