ePower 18650

Has anyone tried a new ePower 18650? What is your opinion of it?

Interested myself. Been scouring ECF and YouTube but not finding anything recent.

What do you mean by "new"? I've had it for approximately 6 months. It died. I loved it but I now cannot recommend it anymore. I'm going to make a thread about it because it seems like there's no information at all about it on here.

There's a newer version...the switch is redesigned, reshaped...kind of tapered. Like an hourglass shape, supposed to be improved.

Hey! I actually ended up getting that! Just the body, for $24. It basically works just as well as the other one. Which is, quite well. It has larger airholes above the threading. It's a lot lighter and dare i say, sexy? I recorded a short video/review which I will link here once it's uploaded. (Tomorrow?) You're right though, I did see basically nothing about it on youtube, and many websites only carry the old model still.

Also, I managed to fix the old e-power by rubbing both vinegar and nail polish remover on the 510 connection with a q-tip, then waiting 24 hours. Or, it could have been a coincidence. It had been doing that blinking blue light of death that many people had reported, and now it works like new again.

I'll have to remember that, now that I have two of the old style 18650s!

I've not tried he new one but the integrated switch solves one of the weak links of the old "one chance to get it wrong" design. That is, with the separate switch, put the battery in backwards (c'mon, it's not that hard) and no more switch.

I've replaced one ePower, the replacement of which is now a backup for my other 18650 devices. It's adequate as long as I pay attention to battery orientation.

Be aware that lightweight tubes do not perform as well as heavier tubes like a Chuck or a Silver Bullet but I can't figure out why.

i picked up an 18650 epower from mvs (not in any way a negative review on mvs - they're a great supplier)- IMO it's a little heavy and bulky to tote around - also the button on mine occasionally sticks (+1 for the 8 sec. cut-off) - no, i didn't flood it with juice - seems like the switch is cocked a little bit - just tap it and it releases...... on the plus side - it hits good, great battery life, it's very shiny and the finish is flawless - for the price ($24), it's a keeper..........
