I just figured that out recently from the two other threads & mighty fine one too if ya ask me!
But seriously, I like metric, I think it's far superior, & wish it was the standard here too. But when it comes to machining related, I only know imperial. But when it comes to fasteners & stuff (except machining threads) I'm all metric. Heck all my Snap-On & Matco tools are metric & I use them on standard too (I used to be a mechanic).
I can picture what a few thousandths or tenth of an inch looks like, ask me how much a tenth of a MM or a few CMs look like & I have no idea. But I do know what 25.4mm looks like.

Put a metric nut in front of me & I'll pretty much know the size most of the time.
