Well. . . I kinda wish I saw this before I just went and drilled one of my ERAs out to 1/16. :( I too think the stock hole is too tight and figured maybe you just got your numbers backwards. Now I have a 1/16 hole that's too airy, bummer. The flavor/vapor is a little better, but it's definitely too airy now. At least I didn't do both of my ERAs. I'll see if I can't find a 3/64 bit around town. thanks for the correction.

Take an epoxy like JB Weld or something similar. Get a small amount on a straight pin and put it around the inside of the hole. After it cures, it will make the hole a bit smaller. If you get too much, it will be easy to scrape or drill out.

I got my 3/64 drill bit at lowes. It comes in a dremel brand precision drill bit set. I found it in the dremel accessory section. It was almost 10 bucks but its nice to have a set of precision bits on hand. I don't like a 1/16 air hole, it's just too airy of a draw for me, the stock hole was way too stiff. 3/64 is perfect :D

3/64 is what I drilled both of mine to:vapor:
This is a head-up fair warning to all BF ERA users-tinkerers:

I have just ordered one BF ERA SS from the IVS co-op. ( I saw so many who's name I recognized order them , so i followed their lead)

The heads-up warning, for all who know me, is that I'm sure I'll have approximately 15 million questions when I receive it and start the process of trying to build one of these things!

( I mailed Rob my precious vvgrand and my woodvil last Thurs. for some of his doctoring skills cuz right after Pietro left me alone with his BF ERA I messed up my vvgrand and collapsed the spring on the woodvil...I'm sure because I tightened the ERA too much on the thread:facepalm:)

So I'd like to thank all of you in advance for all the help you all will offer me!
I knew you couldn't resist:p

Ammnate I can repair that for you and drill the correct hole on there for u if u like. Hit me up.

Thanks for the offer, I'm gonna try an idea to fix it and redrill it, but I'll definitely let you know if it doesn't work out. For now, I'm using a small rubber band for braces to adjust the airflow. It's not quite pretty enough for my liking, but it's nice to be able to fine tune it for the time being.

it would be really sweet if someone could come up with a cosmetically palatable way to have an adjustable airflow system for these, just saying :)
My air hole is within a ridge of the cap...I'm thinking some sort of snap ring that will fit on it that I can turn and has a gap about the size of the hole. I haven't drilled mine out yet so limiting the air flow is not my issue. I will think more about this after I open that hole up.

I was thinking about this very thing last night.....Only might have to wait till hubby gets in from offshore to rig me up somrthing. I would drill it out myself but the cap is small and I can see me buggering it up lol

to drill ss is a pita, but the airflow is perfect for me now. of cours it depends also on how much silica one keeps in the vapin chamber. i check the vertical position of the silica loop through the mouthpiece hole. that's also how i squonk from time to time. as i only have one small silica loop (2mm silica) at one side of the coil and short cutted ends on the other, i just check that the silica is under the rim inside the vaper chamber towards the mouthpiece. but i still can see the bottom of the chamber, what makes squonking very easy: i just can see the juice covering the floor of the chamber. keeps me up for about 6 draws ...

the original air holes were 0.3 inches (0.7mm).

i drilled one of them up to 0.4 inches (0.9mm).

Hey, Dino:

I just got back in town this morning and opened my package. Are the enclosed two phillips screws meant to replace the hex heads? They seem a tad short.

Jack

It looks like they changed some things from the previous version....So they might not work. I had them laying around so I figured I'd throw them in. They might still work if your using 32 kanthal.
