Just got my 2nd clone from Focalecig today. I ordered it before I got the 1st one from fasttech.

FC on the left, FT on the right.

What you get from FC.

The finish is a bit darker than the FT version. The top cap edges are a bit sharper than the FT version but not enough to cut you.

The o-rings hold on a bit better but they'll still fall out so be mindful of them.

Found out this o-ring doesn't do much. I had to add a #60 o-ring just like the FT version. Notice the edges on the tank are pretty clean.

And the build deck. The screw heads are a bit smaller and don't hold wire very well. One side felt stiffer, almost stripped but it's not and tightens down fine.

I built a 1.5 ohm coil using 28g, 9 wraps on a 3/32" drill bit (2.38mm). I used rayon, mimicking the same diagonal cut wick as Qorax. I filled it up with 70/30 (vg/pg) juice and it leaked everywhere. I lost about 2ml of juice even though I was prepared. I emptied the tank using a syringe with a 16g blunt needle (I got really good at this :p). I checked the o-ring at the top of the chimney and measured it by screwing on the top w/o the tank. It seems the tank is about a mm taller and doesn't create a good seal between the top cap and chimney. I added a #60 o-ring and that fixed the leaking issue. Filled it up with the rest of the juice in the syringe (3.5ml) and no leaks. Sort of. Cleaned up the excess that came out of the air channels again and it looked like it wasn't leaking anymore.

I've been vaping it for about an hour now. I'm not sure if it's the airflow but there's a very slight slurping sound sometimes but not nearly as bad as the FT version. No popping (hear that Tony? :p). And it's still loud.

I also received an Infinite KFL+ v2 and built that first after disassembling and washing both. Took about 5 mins and vaped great while working on the Erlk clone. The airflow hole is smaller than my EHPro KFL+ v1 but it came with a mini tank and chimney. I might have to drill that out to 2mm.

I also noticed the 510 was maybe 0.5mm longer, enough so that it wasn't an issue that I had to pull up the 510 center pin on my mods. The air channels under the base isn't cut as deep as the FT version and had sharp edges like the top but, again, not enough to cut you but makes adjusting the afc a bit harder if you use it. Also, I couldn't get the afc to completely close.

Overall, a much better experience mostly because of what I went thru with the FT version. Still not sold on it though.

I think the thing I like the best about the Erlk is that the airflow is impossible to block with a misplaced finger. That used to annoy me so much on Kayfun/18350 mech combos. The Heron wasn't immune from it either.

Funny you should mention that. I tried to make it a little quieter while at work and wrapping a finger around it didn't seem to do anything in the airflow or quietness departments.

How long do you take to refill? I usually take around 4 sec now. There is no time for something to leak. Last week or so I even had an accident as I left the top cap open for like two minutes and it only poured because I had the atty horizontal... Nothing came out front the bottom

Regards
Tony

I tried that my first one too. I'm thinking about polishing the air flow channels to see if smoothing out the airflow quiets it down. I almost don't hate it.

I still haven't conquered filling without a little coming out the airholes and needing to blow it out. I'm not using the afc ring. Would it help at all to try to block those holes with tissue and flip it over before removing the tissue?

How many refills are you getting between rewicks (rayon)?

The only way I've ever refilled it w/o leaking is to close the afc and hold the opening on the drip tip while filling.

Can't say about re-wicking but I've used at least 6" of rayon trying to get the wicking right.

Going by the fit/finish on those clones (the o-rings and screws, what the...?) I won't be buying one any time soon.
And what with the ErlP quality control issues at the moment I won't touch those either.
Stuck buying another authentic I guess. lol
Mind you I'm gonna find a decent set of calipers to measure those screws, the stock ones aren't exactly awesome.

I think the issues that I have are overstated and easily fixed to make it work. The o-ring on the chimney needs to be bigger. I added a #60 o-ring found in any Home Depot or Lowe's and that fixed the leaking. Raising the coil a mm helped with the popping and slurpy/wet draws.

The things I don't like about the clone would be the same if it were authentics. Mainly how loud it is.

It seems to be a good design which is why I wanted to try one and after reading all the rave reviews, I ordered the 2nd one before the first one came in. I liked the top fill design the most.

If I had to recommend one, I'd have to say the silver box from FT. All the threads including the ones on the base are perfect, edges are softened and the finish is nicer. It's just not the atomizer for me.

Ok, I definitely took more than 4 seconds to fill it. Guess I need to be faster. I was trying to gentle with pressure. Using a needle bottle (Nicoticket). Should I use a syringe? I keep getting a few drops out the airholes.
Depends really. One Nicoticket bottle I used was slow to fill, the one I'm using now isn't. I'm assuming the others nozzle was restricted in some way.
I'll tell you this though, 70%vg juice via syringe with 14ga needle I can fill in a blink. lol

The easiest way to quiet the atty is to remove the airflow control ring, slip an o-ring over the 510 and snug it all the way up, then reinstall the airflow control ring.

I tried with a few different sized o-rings. They do exactly what the afc does and the sound is the same. I was thinking of a port and polish like you do on engine heads. Dremel off the sharp edges and polish them down to smooth out the airflow.

Yes, some of their bottles are quick and some are super slow. I've had a few that were so bad I had to squeeze the snot out of to get anywhere.

Guess I should get some needle bottles.
