Anyone else notice the Yiloong Erl top cap is a tad thicker than normal?

Yep and there's other differences that make it more of a Erlk "style" rather than "clone" which isn't a bad thing, IMO. But as nelsonm64 said, it might be worth waiting for a v2.

I'm still not quite sold on Erlkonigins yet. Since I have a base coming for the FC, I might use that base as a guinea pig and start milling/polishing it to see how the airflow reacts before I go at it on the FT clone.

So I got my erl working more to my liking, seems to me, it is better to do a higher resistance coil with it, I normally build 0.50ohm coils, if single or double, so my 1st build I used 24 gauge at my normal 0.50ohms, and vaped at 25 watts, but flavor was very muted, so after a few hours, decided to tear it down again, this time I used 28 gauge which comes out at 0.90ohm, still vaping it at 25 watts, but seems to be more flavor now.

Still not quite as much flavor as I am use to compared to orchid and foggers, but that is to be expected really, as they are dual coils anyway, but I am liking it more now.

Anyone notice their plastic tank micro cracking?

Mine is full of hairline cracks, no tank cracking juices, basically castle long and some diy castle long only... It's been through about 10 tanks I'm guessing, but the cracking is bad, will most likely not survive much longer. :(

I just checked mine, I mean my wife's (now), no cracks.
    (my 2 are almost here)

I noticed on the 2 clones I have, you have to crank it down so the top of the chimney seals so you don't have leaks. That's probably why I was getting leaks as I always backed off about 1/16th of a turn after I felt resistance tightening the top cap. Installing a #60 o-ring fixed that.

I probably went thru 10-15 tanks of juice with no cracks.

I use 28g ohming out at 1.0. Wicked with rayon. Vaping anywhere between 22-26w depending on juice. Getting pretty good flavor imo.

Just loaded up my brand new "silver box" clone. It instantly leaked out about 3mls of my 5 Pawns Queenside juice (ugh!). It did stop leaking and I popped it on..carefully checking for more leaking (none more) and now it's hitting perfectly (for now at least). I'm impressed with the quality of this clone...threads and finish are AT LEAST as good as my authentic ErlPrinz and probably better. Aside from the initial juice dump...I'd say it's a winner.

So is there a summary of pros vs cons on the original vs various clones? I'm thinking of getting one of these but we're on page 58 now..... How do they compare to the Lemo? Orchid? Kayfun?

Most seem to love it but I'm not at all impressed with it. The concept is great but the execution isn't.

    It's loud. Really LOUD.
You have to go to beauty school to trim the wicks just right or you get leaks or dry hits.
    Really LOUD.
Screw on drip tip. Some clones come with an adapter. The authentic adapter is almost as much as a whole clone.
    Did I mention LOUD?
Short 510 connector so it won't work on some mods
    It's pretty frackin' loud.

    Original:
Pro's - quality, fit and finish, warranty.
Con's - Price and sometimes availability.

    $20 "silver box" clone:
Pro's: quality, fit and finish, most parts for the original work with this clone. Spare o-rings.
Con's: Has a yellowish coating over the stainless. o-rings in the top cap fall out easily, top cap over twists past the o-rings slightly.

    $15 FastTech clone.
Pro's: 2mm airflow base. Drip tip adapter, steel drip tip. Adjustable 510. O-rings don't fall out of the top cap. Threads are really nice.
Con's: The finish is terrible. It's unpolished, so all the edges are sharp and unfinished. Red o-rings. Missing juice control adapter, missing o-ring under top cap.

It's only great for spare parts.

Edit: Of the three attys listed, I can only compare them to the Kayfun.

Lighter, easier to position the coil, double the juice capacity in a smaller footprint. Toolless refilling. When wicked correctly, leaks less. Airflow is way easier to adjust on the fly.
The negatives. Proprietary driptip, somewhat finicky with the wicking. Looks "cheap" compared to a Kayfun. Short 510. (Typically nonadjustable 510, though many of the clones have an adjustable 510).
