Well, when my SqR clone is working well, I really like the vape. So I got the authentic, which I expect to work on a regular basis, unlike my clone :D

My Erlk clone is working very well. So I'm not worried about getting an authentic just yet. I will be waiting to hear about QC on the current Erlp though as a less expensive alternative. Otherwise I will be waiting a few months to buy another big dollar authentic as I just can't afford to spend the money at this time.

I totally understand that sentiment my friend.

Whatever keeps one off the death sticks is A-OK in my book. Be it clone, authentic, long, short, rebuildable, carto, etc.

So...... Outta all the clones on fasttech if you had to pick one, which would it be?

I'm going to say the one I have because it works well, has decent fit and finish and the IBTanked glass fits it. Its the $20 one with the silver box. No SS tank or drip tip though.

I received my FT clone (green & white box, the one with the SS tank and drip tip adapter) on Wednesday morning. Took it to work and made a coil, 12 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal around an iPhone repair screwdriver, 1.9 ohms. Wicked with cotton, filled the tank and it vaped very good. It felt it was feeding to quickly (slightly gurgely) so I turned up the wattage to 28 watts and it vaped like a dream, but the flavor was different than on my kfun clone. Vaped the tank to pretty much dry the next day, rewicked leaving the tails longer in the wells. Turned down the wattage back down to 24 and this is a very nice vape, flavor back to normal. Thank you for this thread as it has made my transition to this clone so easy. My only problem now is the kfun clones are not getting much love.

Thanks again!

I would pick the GP PAPS Lux brass clone three tube set or Da Iron if copper's your thing. Atomizer would be the Heron and the $20 Erlkonigin...though I have the green and white box version on order now too.

Oh, and the SvoeMesto clone puzzle drip tip set. If you haven't bought it yet, you should.

Edit: As for regulated mods, I would go with Focalecig instead. FastTech cheaps out on mods with chipsets. The Robbot ZNA is excellent, and my next check is going to go for a Zero Mod clone. It doesn't ship for 15 days anyways, so I see no point in buying it now.

They have a very narrow bore, but if you just use the bases and the tips, they are a perfect accessory for the Erlkonigin drip tip adapters. $12 for 3 drip tips that can be infinitely customized isn't a bad deal. Even $50 for the original set isn't a complete rip off.

I have one on my Erlk pic.

The FT cana's were good for cases a bit of an expensive way to build a box though. I have done the same with the only one I have left (FT cana 20W) the case is slightly different to the V3 cana's with the lip.

I modded this one with a SS .35mm throw switch, Leica glass window, keystone gold contacts etc etc

I keep changing the box it has a 14mm Varitube 510 i turned to 12mm, as there lower profile than the FDVs but am going to replace it with a 22mm if I get the time.

I spoke to Nikkita she was brilliant on the Zero's but as I retro fit everything ;) (I don't trust the cana DNA) I decided to just get the cases over here in the UK with her help. Prime for evolv 30 and 40s can't wait!

So I was looking at the Yiloong Erlk's on eBay and debating on buying one...
Ended up randomly browsing for other stuff and scored a PAPS Lux authentic set 18350/18650 for $120.

It only took five PAPS clones in regular rotation to get me to get the original. Ah well, at least I didn't spend $250+ like the original buyer did. :D

Ok, a friend got me the Yiloong. First problem is there aren't any wick slots cut in the top of the deck, lol! So I had to wait til my other clone needed a rewick to use it as a model. Used a Dremel and cut them in myself. Ok, good there.

It absolutely reeked of machine oil. I mean this puppy stunk bad! I had to soak it twice in alcohol.

Its not a 1:1 clone as I'm sure you've noticed. Its 22mm and everything is thicker. Both tanks, both parts of the top caps, the base. The side wick channels are wider so I wicked accordingly with wider tails in those. Oh, and it has the wider positive pole like the one you can buy for the authentic.

Air channels are cut differently. It may be slightly quieter, but not much.

It has a SS tank plus plastic. SS drip tip and adapter.

I do like it. Vapes just as well and a different size, finish and look. I have a feeling the IBTanked glass won't fit, but I will update on that when it needs rewicked. The base and top are a little wider than the 1:1 clone.

I received two Erlk's from FT today, one was the $21 and something one in the greenish box (was suppose to be the $22 and something one) and a silver box one.
I see no difference between the two aside from the drip tip adapter and metal tank. Vaping good. As I said in an earlier post, my wife made off with my first one.

It's been a couple of weeks so I decided to build my FT clone again. I played with the airflow a bit last week or so. I softened the edges of the side holes on the center pin with a drill bit by hand. I also got the bottom block to sit so it wasn't loud but the draw is definitely not as airy. About the same as my KF's which I like. I didn't get to polish the edges of the air flow channels on the base yet. I built a 28g, 2.38mm ID 1.7Ω micro coil (almost the same as before). Lifted the coil about 1.5mm above the air hole. I clipped the rayon wicks to the edges of the outside juice channels, leaving a very thin tail down each juice channel. I'm using the wick ring hoping it'll choke the juice flow just a bit.

Verdict? Not bad. It's not wet or slurpy and there's no popping. MUCH better but it's only been a few mins so far.

*Edit - It's almost as quiet as my KF's too!
