My last few wicks have been:
1) inserting rayon into the coil
2) put the bottom chimney on while lifting the rayon tails
3) cut 1/8" to 1/16" from the top of the chimney part
4) shove wicks down, make sure to keep the air way from the center pin clear
5) I use one side of a tweezer to create a "tunnel" thru the rayon to the juice channels.

wet the wicks with juice and put everything back together.

I do this on all my KF's (3.1, KFL+ and KFL+ v2). Never had leaking on any of them.

If you do have some leaking, check the o-ring on the top of the chimney. Even if it looks good, replace it and test.
Awesome tips! Now do you push the cotton to the base or the wall?

I'm having a hard time replicating wicking techniques. I'd love to see some pictures from everyone. Might be nice to have a blog entry with all the wicking pictures linked or displayed in 1 central area.

On the Erlkonigen? After I get those little tails cut for the side wick channels, I cut the rest to fit exactly the shape of the chimney. That's what helped me.

Interesting. I don't believe mine ever had one

It should be in the top cap. If your KF is leaking, that might be the cause. Even if it's there, try replacing it with one of your spares.

This is on Kayfuns. You really expect us to stick to the topic? :p

@ZeroOhm: Are you considering an authentic now or no?
This is my 2nd erlk as I spend a lot of time on a boat so if it gets trashed I can live with it, I bought a genuine one first and liked it so much I bought a clone;). I usually do this now saves me some pain on choosing vape gear.

Kayfun wicking, ok :). My method is to pull the bunny ears up, put on chimney cylinder. Cut even with top of cylinder. Fluff up the ends. Carefully and slowly tuck them down until they are below the threads on the top of the cylinder. I don't shove them down. Prime and fire. Then assemble the rest and fill. Never had a dry hit or a flood.

No squirrels here. They don't like my road for some reason. Lots of other critters, but no squirrels.

Pretty much the same as I do but not as carefully anymore. You just have to make sure the ends of the wick point down and is clear of the juice channels.

Here's how i do mine.
First picture shows 2mm coil with rayon cut to length which is even with O.D of body.

2nd picture shows cutting 50% of the top of wick even with threads and channels.

3rd picture shows around another 50% or slightly less of the remaining wick cut away also.

4th picture wick is wetted and placed into channels, ring slipped on, chamber ready to be installed.

You end up with about 25% of the wick size in the coil in the channels, doesn't need to go all the way down.
Coil needs wound in correct direction if wanting to wrap around the screws clockwise.
Also after I install the coil I pull it up a bit higher.

Just my way mind you.

My FT silver box clone was missing one of the 3 x 1 mm o-rings, good that they supply extras as I have no stock of that size (yet)

Actually, that's another I need o rings for. Elanamylove misplaced them before he sent it to me so I have none. No extra post screws either.

We need to revive your thread on o ring sizes and get the mods to sticky it :)

And I need vernier calipers.
