Hi from the other Norway (Minnesota).
I switched over and never had another cigarette after smoking 30+ years. I thought it was really easy at the time, compared to quitting any other way, but I did have some problems (see below) that I didn't acknowledge until later - thankfully this happy group got me through the bad times.
As far as quitting, the biggest downside for me was carbon monoxide withdrawal. I never want to experience that again. I felt spacey, I couldn't think straight and my blood sugar levels were all over the place for about a week. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I didn't have vaping to get me through it. I now believe, at least for me, that I was addicted to carbon monoxide much more than nicotine because I have successfully lowered my nic level from 18 to 12 to 8 mg without feeling any different.
The other downside is once you realize vaping works, you can panic with the thought of knowing you can't get what you want/need at the nearest store. Then everything is about waiting for the mail and calculating how long what you have will last and worrying about something failing and what you're going to do if it does.
I'm at the point now where vaping is easier than smoking and I really enjoy it rather than hating myself for every cigarette I had to have.
Good luck! I hope you love it as much as most of us do.
