Hi everyone ,glad I found this forum and Ill try to explain this as short as I can. Me and my wife just quit smoking last week 7 days today with no problems with the help of e cigs we both have several 1300 ego twists and several t2 tanks with a ton of different juices some we like some not so much some we have mixed. We went out last night and bought the Iclear 30B tanks, filled them with our favorite flavor (as of right now) let them sit overnight she is fine with everything except everthing is tasteing weak to her out of both tanks (I think its her taste buds are messing with her) Me on the other hand , everything I put in the 30B tastes buttery I even put a red hot cinnamon and the same thing, however everything is fine in my T2 or in my dripper. I went back to the store and got a new coil replaced it and the same thing. By the way this is the best thing we have done for ourselves and we are having a blast trying new stuff, we are going to our local shop tomarrow and getting some more upgrades ( spending a ton of money but we're not smoking so its all worth it). Any suggestions or advice would be most helpful. Thanks in advance. Bill

Hello That's odd. What brand of e liquid are you using? You might want to try another brand.

Your taste buds/receptors are in shock. It will pass. Try coffee both smelling & drinking to wake them up again & stay hydrated. They may do this several times over the next couple weeks but then they will wake up and you'll think you've been given a super-power, smell, which isn't necessarily a good thing but you'll be able to taste your liquids again and may even find that you don't like them as much as you did. I started with apple-cinnamon & menthol and now apple-cinnamon is blah and I can't stand menthol.

That's totally weird. There are times my eliquid tastes different due to varying factors (food, recency of brushing, coffee, etc) but what you are describing sounds really odd. Any way, keep off the cigs - two pack red/day smoker here - I have smoked about three or four cartons of cigs since March 2013, and two packs in the past two months, none in the past 30 days - You can do it.

We have some Space Jam and some juice we have gotten local ,just got 7 from Mt Baker but we are letting them steep. I was wonder if its the 30B because it a dual bottom coil and the T3s seem to taste fine

I would suggest upping your nic content considerably while you are weening yourself. 18 mg worked for me. I do plan on eventually decreasing, but I am more interested in not relapsing - for many, many months, maybe even a year (considering my habit) before I decrease.

The kanger pt3 is also a dual bottom coil (DBC) I think it may be a different wicking material. Not sure though as I have pt3 and the iclear 30s the 30s is much cleaner tasting and in general vapes better

I started with a 12mg and kept getting headaches because I couldnt put it down and went to the 6mg and that got rid of the headaches i also have some 0mg to vape on in between but everthing has that buttery taste out of the 30B. Im going to get a few Protank 2's in the morning and a MVP. We are completely done with cigarettes just found out Wednesday the first grandkid is on its way and I have to be around to coach his or hers baseball team.

I'm a bit confused.

Do you have a T3 clearomizer, T3S clearomizer, or ProTank 3? Does your wife like them? Does she taste butter with iClear only or with all the toppers you guys have, Kanger and iClear?

If you have a T3, it's a single bottom coil device--very different from a dual coil.

We have T2 Tank Clearomizer and we just bought the iClear 30B . She is having problems with flavor loss from both , I just have a problem with a buttery taste in the 30B and the T2 Tank Clearomizer everthing taste fine. Sorry I meant T2 I went back and edited the OP.

OK, that's better.

I like my T2s even though I'm not a fan of top coil models. Does your T2 have long or short wicks? Have your tried washing the tank and the wicks prior to first use? Sometimes they come tasting funny from the factory--this is especially true for those long-wicked clearos. Wash them with warm water and let the wicks air dry--or squeeze out excess water with some paper towels.

I'm not familiar with iClear 30B, but since it's a dual coil device, it requires more wattage than a single coil atty. Try upping your voltage and see if that helps.

Maybe if you put in a few drops of peppermint you could at least get a bit of flavor until your taste buds return.

You need to buy better butter! My 30B makes everything taste like nothing with a hint of soap. I got complaints from 2nd hand vapors that it smelled like soap. In my 30B, it was hard to tell the difference between menthol and strawberry. Currently using the 30S, which is much, much better in my opinion. As others have mentioned, higher watts does help - I use 9-10W. My juice is 50/50.
