Hey guys,

Here's the screen form v2 firmware:

And here's the screen from v3 firmware:

So - the diff I see is that the display has changed - but not much else. I actually liked that the ohms and amps were shown on the same line on V2, which gave room for an additional line of display (shown above for the puff and time counter).

Anyone know if the v3 firmware has the option to show the ohm and amps on one line again?

Any other differences that are known or observed?

Thanks!

Have not updated from v2 as so far, not needed. I was of the understanding - the Algorithm for SS coils was changed along with screen update.
Doubt there is an option for reversing the layout.*

*that would eat up precious programming real estate.

Ha! This ain't the 70's anymore; I remember my old apple 2e with 64k ram, and then my McIntosh with 512k; then there were Megs;; well nowadays we're talking gigs, and in a few years time I haven't clue what they'll call it..... teras?

Anyways, OP, I dunno what the v2 has but the latest version does have tcr

But this stuff is still on tiny Firmware chips, not software storage(in most cases)

Even my 128gig Tablets and 3 terabyte laptop have limited firmware space which must be carefully manipulated for proper operation.

Even if there weren't enough space, with the firmware updates I can see them making different styles and flavors of layouts, and you just download it, like ringtones or 'skins'.

I've read of people re-installing V2 after updating to V3 because they liked the previous screen. You could try that if SS temp control isn't a concern...

Thanks - Didn't know you could downgrade to V2 - i might give that a try. SS Temp control and the 75W boost is available in V2. I don't think V3 changed anything other than visual appearance - but waiting on others who know better and with experience to say more...

When you get the firmware software, it gives you a list of firmwares available; you click one from the list and it loads it on your mod. There's about 6 on the list, so you can try them all out. Loads in seconds.

Besides changing the tcr for stainless steel it also allows user customizable tcrs if thats any concern to you.

Yes... 3.0 gave us TCR Adjust.
Across the multiple JoyeTech lines... JTech's VTC and Cuboid, and Wismec's Reuleaux RX200 and Presa 75w. In the same week... quite exciting. :p

And for the VTC, changed the screen layout... again.
The only time it had a screen choice but with the identical feature set was the simultaneous release of v1.3 and 2.0.

But all along, they've been including the previous .bin files with each new update zip file.
So if you prefer an earlier version, it's available.
