"State-level vaping bans are associated with increases in cigarette sales, according to new research. The study, published in the scientific journal Value in Health, adds to a growing body of evidence that prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes has potentially driven more and more people away from safer nicotine alternatives and back to smoking.

They found that an additional 3.4 million cigarette packs were sold through convenience stores across the three states during a three-month study period.

Using state-level cigarette sales data, the researchers found that Massachusetts, which enacted a full ban on nicotine vapes, had 7.5 percent higher-than-expected per capita cigarette sales. Rhode Island and Washington, which enacted bans on non-tobacco flavored nicotine vapes, had an average estimate of 4.6 percent higher-than-expected per capita cigarette sales as well. Based on actual and estimated cigarette sales, the researchers suggested that an additional 3.4 million cigarette packs were sold through convenience stores across the three states during a three-month study period starting from the effective date of each respective ban.........."

Well, imagine that! It’s been a long war and sadly big tobacco is coming out ahead. Cries!

Again, for your benefit - Big tobacco is out to make money......And in fact jumped on the vape bandwagon some years ago and started promoting vaping big time - I still get promotional stuff from RJ Reynolds, the only company who got the FDA to say yes, vaping is less dangerous than smoking. And got one of the only vape products {Vuse tobacco flavor} approved for sale in the US. But this is a significant win - Smaller companies are now suing the FDA and demanding their products be also approved - They might win?

Meantime if only the smaller vape companies , whose resources can not match big tobacco, were defending vaping the anti all tobacco group, backed by the famous super billionaire Michael Blumnut, and politicians like
Dick Dirtbin, would have completely outlawed vaping entirely. In Australia you can now only buy vape products with a doctors prescription only !!!

So I tell everyone when they knock big tobacco, realize they may be the only ones standing between vaping and complete Prohibition of all vaping !!!

And some countries don't even try to 'ban' these things, they're just illegal (huge fines and possible jail time) to have and/or use.
