I've been using the EVOD pretty much ever since it was released, and it's been great. One coil would usually last me a few weeks to a month, maybe even more!

However, the last two month's or so I've been having issues with almost all the replacement coils I've been getting. They start off strong, great flavor, great throat hit, but then within just a few days the flavor will start to get pretty weak, and then it will barely produce any vapor whatsoever!

I've never had any success with dry-burning them either: as soon as I start to give it some volts, the first coil around the wick will start to glow and shortly after the whole coil would short out.

So I'm having some big problems here, as I'm burning through coils every couple of days! I've been using the same juice for years, coils are genuine Kangertech (I'm pretty sure) from discountvapers.com, rated at 1.8 ohms with a couple batteries at 3.7 volts.

Any idea what's up with these coils? Any clue why they short out so quick when trying to dry-burn?

to ecf afihigh019. So glad you are here. What I need to know is how you've been a member for so long and just started posting. I use to use evods a lot and I never had any issues with them. I did take off the flavor wick that is on top of the coil. I did dry burn some but it is just so easy to build them and a lot less expensive. Sorry. I hope someone will come along a really help you. I'm sure they will. Good luck.

Haha, I'm a member of so many forums that I end up overwhelmed and rarely post on any of them! :p

I do take one of the flavor wicks off, but it's strange because I've never had this problem before. The coils will just stop working all together within just a couple days... I've never tried to rebuild or re-coil the wicks before, that might be an option. They are so cheap at around $1 per replacement coil, but they should definitely be lasting a lot longer than they are!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm definitely going to give it a try! A couple questions...

-Can I just rebuild one of these Kangertech EVOD coils that I already have? Or do I need to get something different?

-I'm a bit confused as to what parts I should be getting to rebuild for an EVOD. I'm looking on discountvapers.com and they have EkoWool 3.0mm, Coil Wire No resistance lead in 1.5 2.2 and 2.4 ohm, Silica Wick rolls, and wick and coil combo things in 3 4 and 5 ohms. What should a first-time rebuilder be looking at??

-And finally, are there any good guides one of you may know off the top of your head on how to rebuild? I'll definitely be searching the web & youtube for some info.

Thanks!
