Evod killed my battery!!

I just received a couple of kanger evods in the mail today and was extremely happy. I cleaned it out, dried it up and then filled it. I attached it to a freshly charged battery then turned it on and then as I went to take a vape I watched the light turn off. I can not even turn the power back on it's lifeless  . Has anyone had this happen, or is this a faulty clearomizer or a faulty battery, or is this simply newb error.

If you have an eyeglass screwdriver or something small like that you can try to GENTLY pry the center post on your battery up - just a gentle push up every quarter turn or so ... other than that ... not a clue :(

What Daleron Said.. ^

Do you own a multimeter, by any chance? The best way to check if your atty is OK is to measure its resistance. I do it all the time with all my atties, just to be sure.

If you don't own a multimeter, please check if your connections (threads and center posts on your battery, the base of the eVod) are clean and free of any caramelized, burnt juice. If they are dirty, clean them carefully using a Q-tip or an old, soft toothbrush dipped in 91% ISO alcohol. Screw your eVod into the battery and see if it fire, but do not overtighten--overtightening can dislocate the center pin and lead to malfunction--it has to just make contact, no more.

If that doesn't help, it's time to, possibly, adjust the center pin.

Wiggle the center post in the eVod base and in the battery to raise it a bit.

The litle flat circle is your center post. Use a pair of tweezers, paper clip, or safety pin, or what have you. Wiggle it a little, from all sides, and raise it up a hair. Just a hair--do it very, very gingerly. If you pull on it too hard, you may sever the wires inside and kill your battery.

If that doesn't work--get a replacement coil (I like the 2.2Ω ones).

And if you do have a multimeter, check the old coil.

Stop - First, did you REMOVE the Evod and attempt to turn the battery back on?
Next step is to attach battery to charger to see if it reads.
If it reads - charging or charged, it should turn back on

You need to check the Evod with a meter to be sure it is not shorted. You also need to make surer you never tighten to much. This crushes pins and causes shorts.

sorry to hijack the thread... but has anybody tried the evod with 1.8 ohm? i just order one with 2 replacement heads at 1.8.. i like the 1.8 on my vivi was wondering would i like it on my evod?

I have. I prefer 2.2Ω coils--very low resistance atties drain batteries faster than higher resistance ones--but they are OK. What kind of battery are you using? Do you have a vv battery?

I have the Upgrade also. The only time the light turned off and remained off was due to a fully depleted battery.

If it shorted I think it blinks 3 times. Either resets itself or will after you put it on the charger.

I think it'd be a great idea to call the supplier. And please let us know how this worked out ( to help other users).

Thank you all for the advice, like I stated before it was probably a newbie error I was threading it all the way down. I currently do not own a multimeter to check but I will purchase one soon to be able to check. Before I threaded it back on I was able to lift the battery post slightly so maybe it was a combination of both.

Yup... Do not overtighten the battery connection--but make sure that the coil unit is screwed in tightly into the base and that the tank is screwed into the base tightly...

    I know... :D
