Just heads up for those who like Evods. Today I've received few Evods from fasttech (other vendors exist) for $3.08 each which is almost half price. I believe these are knock offs. They don't have EVOD BCC written on them, the bottom seems to have slightly deeper thread on the inside but everything else is same. (They actually thread better on my MVP than the original ones.) They come with 2.6 ohm coil instead of the original 1.8. Most of all they vape just as good as the original. No leaking etc and the heads are off course interchangeable with the original. That's my take on it - I like good bargains :)

Got a couple myself yesterday, was getting the dreaded metallic taste so changed to a cotton wick and found no improvement.

The head(coil) seems of lower quality than others I have and the crap flavour is better at very low voltages.

May just need more breaking in, I'll give it another day then change to a different head.

I had wondered about these, thought about picking a couple up. Thanks for mini review.

Thanks for the update. I have 10 on the way.
Actually I just bought some here in Canada with same description like the ones you got from Fasttech... for almost double the price.

Just because they don't have EVOD BCC on them doesn't mean they're knock-offs. I have several from reputable vendors that aren't branded, and I read in another thread that the newer ones just don't have the branding.

True. I have 8 'real' evods from 3 reputable vendors and none have the logo on the base.

These Fasttech 'evods' are clearly knockoffs. And not very good ones based on the one I got yesterday. The threading and the fit of the base into the tank is very poor. The clear mouthpiece on mine looks as if it were pre-clouded by tank eating juice. The vapor production is huge like an evod, but I keep getting burnt hits. I'm guessing that could be rectified with some wick work, but never had the issue with an evod. The coil head is designed quite a bit different than the evod head. However the evod head screws into the knockoff base fine. I couldn't get the knockoff head in the real base though.

Got rid of the unyielding burnt hits. The coil was wrapped very tight around the wick, strangling the juice flow no doubt. Another thing was new to me, but I don't know if it's problematic, the coil wraps were extremely close to each other. Probably half the spread of a stock evod wrap.

That's good to hear, just crappy manufacturing. So real heads work in the base, but does the base from one of these thread into a real evod body well? I think I'd just want to know that I don't have to keep my bases matched to a particular body. I'm still not sold on the unsightly mouth piece though...

anyone notice the replacement heads for the evod fasttech sell come in 2 forms? a long and a short version??? the long version which i purchased extra is 2.0ohm and the short version that comes with the evod is either 2.4 or 2.6 ohms... whats up with that. do evods normally have 2 different head types? this will be my first evod... so pardon my ignorance.

Both the evods I got yesterday ohmed out at 2ohm.(actually 2-2.2) my replacements(not fasttechs AFAIK) are 2.5.(one actually reads 3ohms)
I actually prefer the higher resistance as they give me more wiggle room on voltage adjustment,
both up and down.
