Late post but just found this thread. There's a video on youtube for anyone curious how to rebuild the evod.

Kanger EVOD T3 MT3 Bottom Coil Atomizer Rebuild HD Close Up - YouTube

I recently rebuilt mine using .28 guage kanthal wire microcoils measuring around 2.8 ohms and using cotton balls for wicks. Works AMAZING!! its my go-to device now! Works so great! The cotton wicks up juice so quickly, chain vaping is no problem. As for the clouds... phenomenal! Fills up my living room no problem (much to my gf's dismay. She hates when I vape in the apartment). All my other atty's have been sitting on the shelf ever since I rebuilt my evod. Highly recommended!

Lol I always thought the higher the gauge thicker it was. I learn something new every day.

Yeah gauge/resistance can be a bit confusing at first. Gauge is a reverse measurement in the sense that the larger the number the smaller the wire. Considering the smaller the wire the higher the resistance, it also means the larger the gauge, the higher the resistance.

Think of it like this:
G = Gauge, R = Resistance, D = Diameter of the wire, ^ = up, and v = down

G^ = R^ = Dv
Gv = Rv = D^

Hope that helps.

I just did this to my 4 vapeonly BCCs witch have similar attys but I since I still dont have kanthal wire (just ordered some along with a Kayfun Lite) I started exoerimenting for the first time with rewicking and I used a sterill cotton ball from a bag I had laying around. I only left two tinny puffs of cotton sticking out from the atty and these things transformed completely!!! Much MUCH better flavor and plumes of vapor running on my eGo-C's. I just reused the 2.4ohm coils that where already in them by pulling out the sylica and threading the cotton through the coils and then spacing out the coils with a tiny flat head screwdriver.

I did a long cotton wick the same way on my mini vivi style clearo with the same results!

Edit: I hit all my tanks like mad today with these setups and it has been the most trouble free vape I've had during my first month of vaping! No dry hits no burnt hits after chain vaping and no flooding no matter how hard I pull on them! 10/10

Great thread. I use 32 awg Kanthal wire and a 3mm cotton wick on my atty's. I see a lot of threads saying to remove one of the flavor wicks from the setup but what I have been doing is adding 2 x 1mm flavor wicks to the wrap as I make my coils. I end up with a full coil and I never get dry hits. IDK why since some have said they do.

I've tried threading the wick, even just a 3mm by itself through the coil but that just isn't going to happen for me. So far so good and I love the cotton wicks. the only drawback and it's not really a bad thing entirely is that I cannot burn off the coil like I can with a silica wick.

Did I have beginner's luck, or what? The very first coil I ever built is on an Evod, and it's still vaping like a champ after at least 5 tanks. I did 4 wraps of 32 Kanthal around 6/0 100% braided cotton wick, no flavor wick, and it tested at 1.5 ohms. Amazing!!

Man I feel the same way and I haven't even wrapped my own coil. Just a rewick and the game changed completely! Can't wait for my Kayfu Lite and kanthal wire to come in!!

Wow butters 2 years almost 6k+ posts and you never knew you take it slow my friend.

If you click my banner I have a video on youtube on how to make micro coils for puritank/protank/evod/davide coil heads, this video shows you what you need and exactly how to make them perfect everytime.

I use 32 gauge kanthal cotton wick 10/9 wraps at 3.5ohms (micro coils) run @4.5 volts.
