Hmmmm... I'd almost need to see what you're dealing with, but, in lieu of that, all I can think of is you have some clearance/fit issues. What iTaste battery... a 3.0?
A thought comes to mind... as I can't think of anything else that might be common, and that is you might be dealing with out of spec, clone parts and not genuine Kanger. Or, somehow, you have coil heads that are not for PT/EVOD and the center post (the one that locks in the white rubber insulator) is too long - and bottoming out before the EVOD base reaches the (near) bottom of the eGo threading.
- On a Innokin iTaste VW 3.0 (2 of them actually) - Measuring the depth from the top of the 510 collar to the center pin, I get an average of 4.33mm (0.170").
- Measuring the depth of 3 genuine Kanger EVOD bottom base to the coil head contact, I get an average of 5.96mm (0.235")
- On the same 3 EVOD base/coil head assemblies, I get a maximum depth, from bottom base to underside of coil head, an average of 11.07mm or (.436"). 10.44mm
- 10.44mm (.411") is the measurement from the top of the (iTaste) 510 collar to the base of the ego threading or top end cap base.
Hope these measurements will help you... but if you don't have a method of close and accurate measurement... probably completely useless. I use a Mitutoyo "Absolute" digital caliper, accurate to .0005".
