I have had zero issues with my EVOD or protanks so far. granted, i'm like a month into it...

On standard eGo batteries, I only like 1.8 Ohm wicks. I use ProTank wicks in both and they both work just fine. I've had no leaks or cracks or issues whatsoever.

The EVOD does give warmer hits and the taste difference nods to the EVOD.

I still want to try a cartotank just to see what the fuss is all about once i get a spinner or twist.

I have both the ProTank II and the EVOD BCC...
What I like about BCC:
COLORS!
Flavors really pop and I like an intense flavor
the hit is really smooth
What I dislike about BCC:
It's hard to see into the tank
It's plastic or something similar...
tank is a bit small... you'd wanna bring more juice with you or another pre filled tank if you're gonna be gone all day
You can't change the drip tip (and I don't like plastic drip tips)
What I like about ProTank II:
Glass/Pyrex... so it's not made with porous materials
it's classy looking
tank is large enough to last quite awhile
it vapes great and it's pretty consistant (although maybe a little less consistent as the BCCs)
removable drip tip (and all parts are replaceable)
gives a much more powerful throat hit than BCC (IMO)
What I don't like about ProTank II:
It's heavy
it's fragile so you gotta be careful if you take it on the go with you
Hits can sometimes be a bit too harsh

That's just a newbie's (who happens to own both) take on things....

I have used both, and had to quit on the evods. I think to date I've had about 10 of them, and only 2 are still functioning after a couple of months.
Every other has had splitting issues where the mouthpiece and reservoir meet. Eventually the mouth piece separates, or the crack works it's way into the tank area and causes leaking. I've had a handful of friends with the same issue. I've used original kangers and knockoffs, and both have done the same thing.
Perhaps your problems are a result of issues 3 or 4 as noted here:

This is also my experience after 10 weeks of owning both & I have been using cinnamon frequently in both the EVOD & the Protank. The EVOD is still more consistent. Neither unit has ever leaked unless I just didn't get it screwed back together properly--both heads & several times each. My only real trouble with the Protank has been the little o-ring on the base that the coil screws into. It actually disappeared for a while and my tank still didn't leak! I found it stuck on a coil in my "possible dead" box. I received the newer mini Protank 2 v.2 yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find 2 extra o-rings included with it.

I also highly recommend the 1.8 ohm coils for the Ego-C twist batteries. It does make a big difference! The dual coil iClear 16 heads would be my second choice.

That's what I suspected also.

It's also true that the newer Protank/Evod heads that are interchangeable don't work with some of the clones. The center shaft is longer in them, and they don't pair well with the genuine coil replacements. Or, the coil heads are themselves clones and they're incompatible with the genuine Evod tank.

Yeah, I agree that the 1.8 ohm coils on the eVod BCCs shine - but especially on non-VV ego batteries. I just got a set of the 1.8s today, along with an eVod 650 mAh VV battery. You can use the VV battery to adjust for the 2.5 and 2.2 ohm coils and get acceptable performance, but the standard non-VV eVod battery does much better with the 1.8 ohm coils, IMO.

That exact setup--a 650mAh battery paired up with a Kanger Evod and a 1.8 coil head--is my hands down favorite for out and about. I have about five such setups and always have at least two of them with me when I'm out of the house. Its 5.0" small form factor and rugged construction make it perfect for parties, sporting events, the beach, whatever.

I've tried a bunch of different small form factor setups and nothing even comes close in performance and reliability.

I'm fairly new to vaping and I haven't tried any other set-up, but I gotta say that the standard Kanger Starter Kit hardware with the 1.8 ohm coils *is* pretty much perfect for me when I'm out and about. Looks like an old fashioned fountain pen and is just about that size (about 5.25"). Doesn't have the "wow" factor of a Reo or whatever, but it looks pretty good and gets the job done at a very reasonable cost. I usually just carry one in my front pants/shorts pocket. Heh - never thought about it until now, but I guess I *should* consider bringing a spare along for longer outings.

i went from an Iclear 16 to a EVOD and i know they are different styles but its a huge difference. EVODs have a nice airy draw that i really prefer and ive never had one leak on me, not even a little bit i even lost one of the o-rings. the flavor difference isnt really too noticeable to me but the fact they never leak and i get a nice draw is my selling point. the attys seem to last a good while to if you give them a good rinse and dry-burn every week or so, ive had mine last a good 4-6 weeks

I agree, but I'm biased. :D I don't much care for dual-coil atties.

Just an opinion. YMMV
