After starting this thread here - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ternate-between-devices-throughout-day-2.html

I decided to go to my local ecig store and buy an EVOD. Got back home and it's started whilsting, and haven't a clue why. Also the throat hit and vapor doesn't seem to be a strong as the CE4 clearomizer, does it need breaking in? Usually i run my CE4 clearomizer at around 4 valts, but i'm running the EVOD at 4.6. I have tried different voltages but anything than lower than 3.5 hardly produces anything at all.

Have i just wasted £8?

Sounds like it might be a bit flooded. It's almost certainly an easy fix. Take the EVOD off the battery. Turn it upside down and unscrew the base. (Set the mouthpiece/body still upside down in a shotglass.) Blow through the center tube of the head, into a paper towel. Liquid in there will cause all the problems you mentioned. Reassemble good and snug, but not so tight that you risk cracking anything. Set it back upright, wait a minute, connect it to a well-charged battery and see if that works. Unscrewing and rescrewing those parts fixes most problems.

When it comes time to replace the head, you might prefer a lower resistance. They're usually available at 1.8, 2.2, or 2.5 ohm (or so). Some EVODs (especially clones) come stock with 2.5 or even 3.0+ ohm head installed.
