I'm not sure I can appreciate the complex analyses expressed here on what to me seems like a fairly common scenario. It's an activity imparting a degree of pleasure that draws people of varying interest levels. There are countless such activities in the human experience that similarly involve participants from very low interest levels to fanatical and beyond. It isn't necessary that each level of interest fully appreciates or understands another to get what you want or need out of it.

Well this is a fine and honorable hobby I tell you :D I don't think though that our continued vaping has much to do with the hobby side of it, we can kid ourselves but it's really all about the nicotine. Very few of us vape at 0 nic, some do but a small percentage. I doubt that many of us are simply using this as a cessation device, at least in terms of ceasing using nic. How long will I be vaping? Well I assumed they'd be putting a carton of Rothmans in my coffin, now I'm sure it will be my Darwin and my rather significant juice collection ;) I'm just glad I found a better hobby.

As for the gent that said that vaping is 80% as satisfying as smoking, damn you sir! :D You may be right but I sure hope not, I want to be MORE satisfied, and a lot more at that. I'm probably already past the 80 and the hope is that once I put more time between my last cigarette I will finally get over the remnants of withdrawal and be really crowing.

Here and back
When I started analogs, I went through several different brands to find the one like I liked best in terms of taste, longevity and amount of smoke it gave off.

I ended up liking a longer cigarette so it could last longer. For me with vaping, that equates to the bigger battery size that I opted for.

I'm dying laughing here, I decided no such thing, I smoked whatever my dad smoked where I could snitch a few and not have him notice. That's how I came to my cigarette of choice decision! That was 40 some years ago, mind you.

That sure does bring back memories. Both mom and dad used to send me to the store for their cigs with $1 in hand and I'd return with 2 packs and a few mojos for myself. Rothmans. That was their (ahem...our) poison back then.

...perhaps a role for the tobacco companies.

Coincidentally, I ended up liking the one's that my mom smokes. And yeah, I was a kid that had to run to the corner store for smokes as well. Then had to bring in a note and then it was a no go.
