Neither ethanol or VG are getting nicotine in any significant quantities. Ethanol might get the tobacco specific nitrosamines (carcinogens), however, and if you are using American tobacco which is likely fermented, those are in elevated amounts.
I think he meant store bought alcohol, probably vodka. Nicotine is soluble in polar solvents which alcohol and water both are(Technically alcohol is both polar and non-polar, but I digress.) A good bit of the nicotine will be extracted.
Yes, TSNs levels are elevated in fermented old unrefrigerated tobacco. However, if one were to use snus which is steam cured -fresh and/or refrigerated- then the TSNs would be minimal.
Yours will probably taste great, but might get hard on attys (the tobacco essence certainly is), and you may be getting some bad compounds too. Just my opinion.
I strained my tobacco extract several times through coffee filters until no visible particles remained. It didn't have any adverse effects on my 510 addy at all.
You might try my tobacco essence, which is a fast cook in hot VG, then straining.
I have yet to try a tobacco glycerite extract. My ghetto crystal palace redman chewing tobacco extract did come out good though.
I'll do a comparison when I get some time and spare cash.
Kirby- I'm pretty sure that when you oxidize tobacco it speeds up its decomposition into Tobacco specific nitrosamines; Which are more harmful than the nicotine itself. Not only that, but in my experience oxidized nicotine tastes disgusting.
