I don't think you actually have a problem... personally. I think you may be shooting for something you aren't really ready to build/handle, and if anything's a problem it is that fact. You've got a good mod for starting vaping in the sub0hm direction, but I would try to settle on a lower wattage setup and coils first, something you can actually vape that will match up with battery safety. For the most part, those "high wattage" builds aren't really sustainable unless perhaps you move to a three battery mod or something. Overdoing what your gear can handle (tank AND batteries and mod) is only going to lead to trouble. I'd focus on experimenting with juices for now and find a high VG mix you like,

There's nothing inherently admirable or virtuous about blowing 200 watts especially with a new set of equipment. Stay within its tolerances as you get used to vaping, and if you want to start using ultra high cloud setups you can do that down the line, when you are more familiar with vaping. For now, look at the "recommended wattages" printed on your coil, and stay at or below them, don't overfocus on wattages and coils. Plenty of time for that later (if you must).

Higher VG juices will increase cloud production (at any wattage) so start by experimenting with some of your juices. Etc.

Welcome.

Also really really bad for you. Have to hold a vaporous flammable liquid in your mouth and basically all of em are really bad for you. Way back when the only one available was naphtha and long term use killed the users.

On a related note, I just bought a new skateboard and it won't do that trick Tony Hawk does. What wheels do I need for that one?

  1. You've got the wrong batteries for pushing the wattage limits of your mod.
  2. You've got unreasonable expectations to just buy a vape and win a cloud comp.
  3. If that was your whole goal in vaping, you're going to have to do some research and learn a lot about batteries, ohms law, and building coils to get there.
Not saying it can't be done, just saying that most of us came to the clouds while looking for other things. Typically a way to quit smoking. Your best bet is to probably search for cloud chasing tanks and VG eliquid. There are devices that can get you close, but nothing's going to win a cloud comp on a premade coil straight out of the box. It just won't happen.

Hi all,

So I've been trying so hard for a very very long time to get the most out of my vape but everytime it seems like I am getting rigged as hell by all webshops. Let me explain the story:

I currently have the Ikonn Eleaf 220Watt vape.
I am buying & buying new coils but nothing really exciting to join my friends cloud battle.
Why on earth are all my coils so low.
Webshop support says: yeah u shouldnt go to 220watt for the battery.

Now, I have bought the x4 0.15Ohm coil but this is also a big miss buy.
Can someone recommend me how I can get the most vapor out of my vape.

Will be refreshing for a reply

THANKS!

Edit:
Ohm: 0.15
Volt 2.77
watt ~60

There were a lot of replies and I didn't have time to read them all, so this may have been said by others.

First, I don't see where the Ikonn 220watt offers a .15 ohm coil. They have HW1, HW2, HW3, and HW4 coils and the lowest ohm is .2 ohm The HW pretty much stands for how many actual coils you have in the "coil assembly". The HW2 has two coils in the tube, the HW4 has four coils in the tube, etc. The ohms is just a reading, and in this case, doesn't really coincide with vapor production. According to their site, their HW3 and HW4 coils offer the most vapor.

In the traditional sense, if you match similar setups, the lower ohms usually offer higher vapor... if they're identical setups. That means if you have a two coil system using the same materials, usually the lower ohm setup produces more vapor. There are so many variables, there's no one easy answer. I would go with their HW3 or HW 4 coils as a starting point.

Now, the next tip, is to go with a higher VG blend. I did read you didn't know what VG meant. A brief overview, is Ejuice is typically made of four ingredients... Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerine (VG) Nicotine (nic) and flavoring. PG and VG make the base of the EJuice.. and is about %80 (or more) of the ejuice. PG has a water like consistency, and usually carries the flavor better. It also gives more of a throat hit. VG has a vegetable oil like consistency, has a smoother taste, produces more vapor. It's downside is it doesn't carry the flavor as much, and the thickness makes it harder to wick the juice to the coil(s). most Ejuice has a mixture of the two. The "spec" sheet of a juice might say something like this: 30/70 6mg/ml Mango/guava. That pretty much tells you what's in the juice. %30 of it is Propylene Glycol, %70 Vegetable Glycerine, .6% nicotine, and mango and guava flavorings to taste.

Two things you should keep in mind when it comes to your setup.

1) are your coils designed for wattage mode, or temperature control mode? The Ikonn can use both, so make sure you have one for wattage if you want to stay in wattage mode.

2) If you choose a high VG juice, you might have to poke some holes in your coil to allow for the thicker juice. Most coils are designed for 50/50 mix. you can fix this by poking a hole in the cotton with a pin. This helps with dry hits, allows juice to get to the coils, and in many cases, prolongs the life of the coil. Don't poke too many holes, or too large of a hole or it might wick TOO much juice into the coils.

I hope this helps some.

Learned a ton here, thanks!

What sounds extremely familiar to what you wrote is this:
I would go with their HW3 or HW 4 coils as a starting point.
When I bought my vape it came in with 2 coils.
1 x HW3 Triple-Cylinder 0.2ohm Head
1 x HW4 Quad-Cylinder 0.3ohm Head
That hw4 one produced MUCH MUCH MUCH more vapor while the hw3 did so much less like now.
So if I understood it right I should google for: "HW4 Quad coils much vapor."

edit: correct me if I am wrong haha

By the tone of your posts it sounds as if you are a fairly new vaper. Research, read, watch videos and keep asking questions. You can blow huge clouds at 40 watts if you build for that.
Yeah that's why I'm asking on this forum haha!
I am searching all day for a good coil but in may I got my "Project X" home alone party and we are doing a cloud contest with friends so I need to win whahahah

Why do you need to win? Just have fun with your friends and if you win, you do. If you don't, ask the winner about his gear/vape how he does it and etc.

Anna

Yeah maybe didn't put that right to words.
I just want to know what the most is my vape can handle by producing vapor.

I think you've already gotten that information. Go get some max VG (unflavored, no nic) and start practicing to your heart's content.

The main things: DO NOT overstress your batteries by exceeding their capacity. For more on batteries generally, go visit Mooch's blog, to be sure you aren't putting yourself in danger.

If you are new to vaping, probably many of your friends are using rebuildable dripping atomizers at very low resistance. You will have to deal with the lowest resistance coil you have in your setup, and practice using that. Exceeding recommended wattages for the coil, and safe battery output from your mod will shorten everything's life, up to and including an explosion, if your mod's regulated protections fail. It's really not worth trying to "win" a competition for that, is it?

Also, your lung function is going to play a role, so if you were a smoker that ability to produce insane clouds will be decreased.

I would probably accept, upfront, that you may not win. What you have isn't going to beat out a bunch of "pals" who may have been holding these cloud competitions far longer. They may also be doing comparatively "dangerous" things to get there..

I doubt you will win, and if you exceed your mod and tanks tolerances, even worse may happen. Cloud competitions are also notorious for people willing to do "whatever it takes" to win, occasionally resulting in explosions.

Maybe as you learn to vape, you may win one of these competitions. However, disregarding safety is not the way to do it. You are going to need to learn a LOT more about vaping in such a "specialized" way to win. To do it safely, you need time and experience.

The answer won't change, regardless of how many times you ask the question. To maximize clouds, use pure VG, and just run your mod and coil as hard as you and THEY can handle, but not more.

Do you really expect to win your first cloud competition a few days into vaping? That's not realistic, and if I were you I would ask a "friend" for help but the bottom line is you have pretty normal vaping equipment, not a cloud chasing setup.. IF you want such a setup, go talk to the friend who won the last time, and see if he has any input.

Sigh.

Sorry for that.
The fun thing is, my friends also have just normal vapes & normal setup and I bought the vape first from all.
I have 2 vapes now.

The one I've listed before and this one:

  • 1x Smok QBOX 50watt Box Mod
  • 1x Smok 2ml. Baby Beast Tank
  • 1x 0.25ohm Smok V8 Baby M2 Coils
  • 1x 0.15ohm Smok V8 Baby M2 Coils

If I am going to buy a better tank/coil.

On which one should I upgrade?

Thanks xx

Be nice lol! A lot of ppl start with big dreams. It is important to not go too far too fast though. Knowledge is very important with vaping for safety and enjoyment.
