And that equals a ban? Of course they aren't.,you don't see ads for Camel Wides on FB, either, do you?
Not quite the same thing, a documentary about vaping is not an advertisement for a vaping product, unless they are describing a particular product and how to purchase it. The ad would be for the film.

It glorifies the use of a tobacco product. Most people who don't vape don't see a difference between smoking and vaping...

Define "glorify." Most people can recognize the difference between a documentary and an advertisement. I believe the purpose of the documentary is so that people who don't vape may learn the difference between smoking and vaping.

    Facebook reversed their decision:

"As damaging bans and restrictions on safer smoking alternatives become law all over the planet, a billion people proceed to die from smoking. It's a very emotional time.
I look into the eyes of my new friends around the world and I see sadness.
    I see frustration.
    I see fear.
    I see anger.
    I also see hope.
This week, you didn't give up. You fought back. You told Facebook you weren't going to stand for censorship of a film.

I'm proud to announce that Facebook has reversed their position. Our ads are no longer censored.

    You did it.
That's not all we're going to do. This is just the beginning.
It was inspiring to see all the support we've received, but now it's time for me to get back into the editing room and finish the film. It's getting close.
Then, we're going to drop this bomb, end this war, and save hundreds of million of lives. Together.
    Thank you for caring,
    - Aaron Biebert & the team"

What if it were a documentary by Phillip Morris clarifying how breathing in casual second hand smoke really isn't harmful?

If it were factual, and did not contain advertisements for their products specifically, sure. That might actually be beneficial, if the public weren't predisposed to not believing the tobacco companies anyway. Although, even if everyone KNEW that environmental exposure wasn't harmful, it probably wouldn't change much, since people now believe that "this annoys me" is enough of a reason for legislation.

Those same people feel the same way about electronic cigarettes and a propaganda film about vaping won't change their minds, either...

Okay steve, nothing will ever change anyway, might as well just accept what they give us.

We're not amateurs or vapers, but we are optimists. The power of a great documentary film is real. Look at what Food Inc. & Super Size Me did to the food industries.

Hopefully you'll wait to see the film before judging. That's all we ask.

My post was sarcastic, I don't believe you know our resident pessimist. I am very grateful for the work that you are doing.

This (the FB policy reversal) is great news. It gives me renewed hope that we do, en masse, wield a little power. It always makes my heart happy to see our group come together.

Fakebook is nothing but a cesspool of political correctness. I will NEVER be Zuckerberg's product. Just leave that stupid site. :)
I'm not a big fan of FB either, but it is a good way to reach a large number of people that you otherwise would have no way of reaching.

What we need are numbers(of people), we already have the facts on our side.
