Fake Atlantis coils?

So I took a risk and bought some coils on ebay. When I received them I was having issues getting everything lined up when tightening down then after priming the coil and letting it sit for a few minutes I was getting a funny taste. I decided to run the security code and it says it was checked over 5500 times!

I contacted the seller and this is the reply:

We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase of the Atlantis replacement coils. We never advertised them as Authentic, genuine or made by Aspire. However, these coils ARE made by the manufacturer who makes and sells them to Aspire. They are the same EXACT coils as you would receive if purchasing Aspire ones -- since they are simply buying the same ones from the same factory.

What we were able to do, is to cut out the middle man, Aspire, so that we could purchase them cheaper and then pass the savings on to you, the customer. The reason they don't show up in Aspire's site, is simply because we bypassed them and they do not register the units.

As with the units purchased through Aspire, or any coil, the cotton is quite thick. You need to have the e-liquid soak through the coil/cotton for a few minutes prior to the first use.

However, as customer satisfaction is our number ONE priority, if you are unhappy with this purchase, kindly ship the units back to us and we will give you a full refund of $20.00 to cover your shipping costs back to us.

I tore down one coil to see if there was anything different, but looks to be the same:

So what do you guys think? Is the seller telling the truth? Should I send these back? Do you think that just that one coil was bad? Im kinda scared to vape on another one.

Thanks for any help...

i dont think there are any middle men in the making of their coils as i thought it was made inhouse by aspire but dont quote me on that

Can you tell me where to get authentic coils at a decent price?

Upon further inspection the inside diameter is smaller at 9/64th vs 5/32nds of the OG's I got with the tank. Im chalking the up as fake. FYI the coils came from gingervaper and that was who replied to my email.

I bought 10 of these at $1.99 a piece and they came in two five packs that verify as authentic with Aspire,

Aspire Atlantis Coil (1)

The deal ends in three days, still 18 in stock as of this post. $2.99 flat rate shipping.
