Fake Egos batteries..

I friend of mine mailed me a few batteries that he bought from different Chinese vendors.

I got the package and I was surprised how lightweight the 3 ego batteries were. It was supposed to be a 900mah battery. It weighed about 1/4 of what my 650mah ego does.

It looks, acts, and charges like an ego. However, the battery itself only lasts about an hour with heavy use. . There is probably 150mah worth of battery inside. I also noticed I could use a standard 510 volt meter on them. Usually on an standard ego the volt meters just blink due to the pulse width modulation.

Im not sure if this has happened to other people, but if my friend just got 3 of them - so they are out there. If our vendors are buying in large bulk amounts, these could get slipped in undetected.

If anyone is good and ripping these things apart ill mail you one and you can do tear-down.

I don't trust my skills or the battery itself.

These arent copies.. these are fake batteries.. There are a plenty of ego style batteries that are great - that aren't Joy tech. Smoktech makes a great Ego battery for example.
