I was sold what I believe is a fake Kanger protank 3 by a local shop. The laser engraving on the bottom piece of the tube body seems to be iffy. The 3 is smaller than its suppose to be and it's offset, not aligned with the "Protank" part. Also, the coils that came with it only have 2 wicks but only one coil.

Now...I may be new to vaping but I know these coils are supppse to have 3 wicks and 2 coils!

I've no problem with the tank itsself , I just want to know if I'd be able to order real PT3 coils and run them safely on this tank.

Simple Solutions is for brand new vapers just getting started out. With this issue, you'll probably get more help in the regular New Members forum. :)

If you can, post a photo of the bottom of the tank. That may help others help you identify if it's a authentic product.

Yeah I checked the scratch off code already and it yielded less-than-hopeful results that my tank is authentic. The # has already been checked over 250 times...

So I deduced this to either; my tank is real and all the other checks were from clones, or my tank is fake :/. The latter is obviously the case...but what I'm really seeking is an answer to my question of whether or not REAL Kanger PT3 coils will work with this clone.

I tried attaching a photo but it exceeded the 1mb limit.

I never bother myself with all this "authentic" stuff. I've never bought anything vape-related for more than $45. I've never had problems with my stuff. Nothing was broken in 11 months, no leaking, no (OK, almost no) gurgling, no nothing. Am I lucky? Or things are going fine for me because I do not bother about minor things? Kanger is a Chinese company. Even if you got a "fake" tank, most probably it was made on the same factory by the same people.

I have a protank 3 I got real cheap. I got it to play with. I believe it was like $12.00. It came with two coils. But they are short. So I look around and found out that kanger had make a couple changes to the coil design. As far as I can tell there are 3 different styles other the the ohms. 1. Short stem. 2. Ones with wicks sticking out. 3. The ones with four hole. ( I think silica )

The 2 that came with my PT3 are the long-stem 2.0 ohm coils with the wicks showing. I believe these are single coils because I know the resistance should not be 2.0 if the coils are as they say on the back of the package. It states there is a 2.4 and a 1.8 ohm coil...theres no way the resistance could be 2.0 with those coils. Also theres only two wicks on these coils a opposed to three like genuine kanger dual coils.

Theres been no problems with it so far...I just know I'm going to need coils in the next few weeks or so. Guess I should just order stuff to rebuild them?

Could anyone point me to a guide for building a dual coil atty with a resistance of atleast 1.5-2ohms?

It has to be fake, you haven't had problems with it.
