At my local B&M store they have a fake eleaf istick called the U20, one major difference is that albeit the look is DEAD ON to that of an istick, the u20 fires as low as .3 ohm coils, which is something eleaf should consider trying out themselves. I have a U30-B battery, well, mod, it is an ego style 2200 mah battery with an lcd and it goes up to 30 watts, it most certainly has to be a copy of something out there.

If it's called a U20 and it even fires lower than an istick then it's not a fake.
Otherwise a Hyundai is a fake Honda, Pepsi is a fake Coke, and a spoon is a fake fork.

i always see people bringing it up, "make sure it comes with a security check code" for alot of apvs out.

in all of the time ive ben vaping - i have NEVER seen a fake mvp, istick, or anything else of that nature, besides an ego battery or evod battery/tank cloned.

since those are more of a "style" type thing, i understand them being copied - but name brand devices like MVP, istick, sieglie and the rest, i have never seen a "copy" that used THEIR brand name.

never seen one for the mvp, but i know the istick has a few "sisters" out - with different brand names - obviously not trying to copy/infringe.

has any one ever seen any fake avps? and i mean FAKE.
I was unfortunately the victim of a counterfeit istick 20w. They are out there with the eLeaf and iStick logo. It came with a scratch and check code too. I checked after I purchased it and it came up that the number was searched before with dates pre-dating my purchase date.

(The photos are sideways and I cant seem to fix it from my phone)

That is a counterfeit product.
If it is a clone with a fraudulent logo it is a counterfeit.

Authentic companies are fighting back. Footoon leaked pics and blueprints of a completely useless atty to China. They are now for sale on FT. This just cracks me up. Search "aqua v3" on fasttech. But, don't buy it, it doesn't work. Hilarious.

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!
That would explain why I could never figure out how it worked!

coil at the top;
fog chamber looks upside down.
airflow leads into the tank!

hmm; funny thing tho; it is usable; like a dripper with the tank below; and what looks like airholes to the coil would be the place you get your wick wet; or just let the wick hang down into the tank through those slots.

but I don't see a place for the air to actually get into the tank at the top; you'd have to drill holes at the top to make it workable.

ohhh but it does.... putting Egos into pockets and sitting on them will do it everytime :)

Well, that's good to know... I guess. I didn't put that one into a pocket at all though; it was just sitting (upright) on my desk, with a mini PT II on it... I reached for it, and picked it up by the top, instead of the bottom... and it came apart as shown. The wires are still connected, it still works, so I suppose a bit of superglue could fix it, if I could figure out a way to clamp that top part into the fitting while the glue dried.

the slots on the bottom of the top section is the juice feed and drain ( think bottom fed attties REO) the air flow comes from the top cap ( adjustable) which feeds thru the holes into the coil chamber down over the coils and back up thru the mouthpiece.... will most likely leak alot when layed down on its side.....

Am I the only one that doesn't really care what it is called? Knockoff/fake/clone/counterfeit/unauthentic/copy... it is just not important enough for me to worry about them being used interchangeably.
It matters when marketing the product. I for one would not have purchased my istick if i knew it was a fake/counterfeit (it has eleaf and istick branding on the unit), especially at the price i paid, which was full authentic market price at that time. I would have spent the same amount and gone to get a real one.

A clone, isnt a fake as mentioned earlier in a correction to my psot. Its an established and 'marketed' replica which i personally wouldnt consider a "counterfeit". Is it a knockoff? Yes, but its not being marketed as authentic therefore its not counterfeit. Buyers know that its not authentic but choose knowingly to purchase it anyways.

I guess what I was trying to say is when I search for an authentic device, all I really care about is whether it is authentic or not. I throw knockoff, fake, counterfeit, clone, replica, and so on into the "not" category. I often see people argue on the semantics of it all when the same device can be described by any one of those words depending on the situation.

BLATANTLY listed as a clone - they werent advertised as authentic.

- have you seen an ego clone/fake with a joyetech logo? - i havent.

FastTech doesn't list them as authentic - FT is very good that way.

BUT what happens when a vape shop (B&M or online) orders these from FT, and then sells them as the genuine article, at a massive markup? That's the problem. These mods don't come with a "Certificate of Unauthenticity" that would protect the buyer!

The best way to avoid buying a clone is to research the forum vendors and buy from them. They'll have checked the devices out before offering them for sale. FT might be nice for carts and tanks and assorted other accessories and even some throw-aways, but trust ECF vendors first and China second always works for me.

Heck no, not since about... May? I've tried to use a T3S or a PT II Mini since I got my kayfuns, just 'cuz I've got so many of the silly things... no dice. I just can't make the stupid things work at all! That Twist discombobulated in May, I think. I keep it around as an object lesson... "if a price looks too good to be true..." :D

The current line-up, minus one mech and one kayfun (that kayfun is currently soaking in soapy water), looks like this:
