I'm aware of what it meant. Its just a bit over dramatic, isn't it? Smokers don't want to be brow beaten into quitting....if anything, the judgement passed by these newly reformed smokers will not help. Someone made a comparison to sobriety. Sponsoring new comers is about staying sober and helping others . Its not about getting people sober. We don't have that kind of power. Its about having something they want ...usually, thats happiness and freedom. So, if we quit smoking and turn into a complete d-bag, judging those who aren't quite ready to quit and saying we'll send flowers when you die.....why the hell would anyone respond to that? Its attraction not promotion.
This. No amount of nagging, belittling pleading or just general harassing me was going to make me quit. And this was from people I love and cared for that were doing it because they were worried about me. A casual acquaintance was going to get an earful if they started in on me. Trust me, I was locked and loaded. Treating someone like crap to make yourself feel superior is a total d-bag move.....
If they want to smoke let 'em light up. If they want to push a button let 'em push it.

I don't have a problem with dual users. Afterall, I was one for a couple of weeks. 
The problem I see is that once vaping is disallowed inside and outside in public places, like it is here, there is less incentive to switch.

I was a dual user myself, for about 3-4 wks. I just couldn't find any reason to KEEP smoking, when I had something that tasted so much better, and was so much less harmful. But it's true that pressuring me would most likely have been extremely counter-productive. I think I was so successful BECAUSE my husband gave me zero pressure; he was pleased that my consumption had gone down, and KEPT going down... till it was finally zero.
You really do have to really want it. The egos and the kanger tanks, they're ok, if you started with cigalikes, which I did. But you don't really get into GREAT vaping until you've learned enough about this to get a rebuildable, and if they're just "chipping," they might not ever get to that point, but just eventually find the egos and kanger tanks rather inadequate, and just stop, thinking that all vaping is "just not good enough."

I look at the positive side of this equation. I have someone at home trying their best to quit, but still smokes 5-10 cigarettes per day.
If someone spends 8-12 hours of their day not smoking - I consider that commendable. Almost all of us are ex-smokers and some (me) worse than others (2+ packs/day) before quitting.

How long do you think it will take before eliquid is banned?
The FDA Regulations and Impact Analysis are a response due to the pressure put upon them by zealot politicians. They have sat on their hands for too long and now have to make up some sort of comeback to act like they're truly doing something about it.
After the extension for comments takes place, the lawsuits that will have to be decided, the deadline for enactment will be when? Has the FDA ever had to back down from ecig regulaltion in the past? How long ago was that?

Never. But 99.99% of e-liquid suppliers won't be able to afford the FDA's costly approval process so in essence, they'll be out of business.
Because they (and Big Tobacco) have deep enough pockets to withstand the FDA approval process. Especially when they know they'll be the only suppliers left.
