I think a manufacturer can insist on a set price for their product.

eg Apple can insist their phone is sold at £500 and Samsung can undercut them by selling theirs at £300

Price fixing is where 2 or more competitors collude to fix their price which means there is in fact no competition. If apple and Samsung agreed to keep their prices the same that would be price fixing.
A case hit a US district court about 3 years ago. Now that I think of it, the supreme court may have over-ruled it without me hearing of it. Shortened version, if it is collusion by companies, it is a crime. If it is 1 manufacturer it is still price fixing. Though 1 company isn't a crime, they can't do it. The winner in this argued the Sherman Act applies to individual product.

As I said, SCOTUS may have reversed that and where you are may not have the same ruling.

Edit - additionally in the ruling was a brand has the right to refuse warranty claims and other protections if something is sold below msrp.

I have heard the same thing on some fiber arts products, I believe they were spinning wheels. One of the vendors selling them if they were sold for less then the retail MF selling price that they would be fined and lose their privileges to sell them. To me that is price fixing. I do not see how that is fair. If a vendor chooses to sell an item and make less profit, but gain more sales that should be advantageous to both the consumer and retailer. Of course this would not apply to knockoffs.

If it was gas we were talking about, this would be a criminal offense. In the early 80's gas stations use to try to tell everyone the" fake gas "was water filled and would ruin your car.

And now, The Government makes them put water in it....and it's ruining our cars...

in my area there are a few stations that still sell no gunk gas(no ethanol). It cost only 30 cents more and its great for boats, all lawn tools ands really nice old cars.I go on friday afternoon its a car show without salesmen.Back in the 70/80s the ethanol content was even worse than now but all the little gas lines now cant last with it at all. There is a web site to find those stations.Might be this one

Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

its a godsend for your stuff when gas sits around

I'm still going to shop at fasttech. When I looked to buy a Weber Smoker for BBQ competitions I saw that everyone sold the one I wanted for 399.00. Yes companies do fix prices.

Here in the USA, we call it MSRP .. and a seller can get cut off from manufacturer by selling under MSRP .. it's just price fixing with a fancy name .. however, to protect the "value" of a product .. say a Fender Guitar, it's a common practice ..

As I said, not illegal and cutting the retailer off from directly buying, which is how they probably manage the fixed price for the grill, falls under what I referred to as "other protections". But if the retailer finds a way to get it, such as the way smokeyjoe points out in the blog posted by another user, the company cannot stop them from selling it under msrp.

Too bad your "original" is made in China. 99% of e-cigs and accessories are manufactured in CHINA> Please do some research, because Google is your friend. If you choose not to purchase from "China" and pay a middleman for what you consider "real" stuff, that is your choice.
I figured that out as soon as I took a look at that website.... If it's too good to be true, or made in China, it's fake.

LOL, THAT being said, I didn't know any better. I can't look at a PV since I am so new, and tell if it is or isn't. However I did start a thread asking what mods are made in the USA, and got a lot of information from that. I know what I am shooting for now that I am a teensy bit more experienced. I have specifically only bought juice from local/US makers. Will never buy juice from another country and ultimately I would like to make my own....

Baby steps!

BTW, I had no idea my Ego was made in China as I bought it at American eLiquids. I thought american juice, american products. WRONG. My local B&M told me.

There are plenty of folks that make custom mods to order. And yes, when it comes to my purchase, I will shell out the $$ for it.

Yet, you did NOT before, and you have no experience with American made custom mods at this time? So, why are you on here knocking Fast Tech when you are ADMITTEDLY not an expert?
I can understand your wariness to order only American made e-juice, but not only are 99% of e-cigs made in China, but so is most everything else, including many designer bags. I trust you shop at Walmart or Target sometimes? Have a China manufactured phone, television, I-pad?
