I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but is there a general opinion or guide/post for the best "cream" flavors for simple fruit and cream mixes? I tried to search but the results for cream are numerous!

About to try my hand at DIY for the first time. I think I have everything I need sorted, now just to pick out a few flavors... which is the hardest part.

I like those particular ones because AFAIK, they're all diketone-free. I know some folks don't care one way or the other about diketones, I just prefer to avoid them.

That Sweet Cream by Capella is perfect; a drop or two into 2% milk makes it taste just like whole milk. Or, put milk in your coffee to avoid fat, and add 1 or 2 drops of the Sweet Cream flavoring for that yummy real cream taste. :thumb:

The Vanilla Swirl is by far the best vanilla I've tried; if you mix a little of the DX Bavarian with the Vanilla Swirl, it tastes like custard -- without diketones. The Whipped Cream is fairly light, but very good.

My own strawberry & cream recipe uses the DX Bavarian, Vanilla Swirl, and Sweet Cream -- and it's far better than any juice I've bought.

The Capella Vanilla Custard v2 isn't good at all; it practically has a neon sign flashing 'artificial! artificial!' -- that was why I tried out the TFA Vanilla Swirl, which actually tastes like vanilla instead of some artificial taste.

Andria, do you think this recipe would work okay with FA DX Vanilla Cup cake/French Vanilla Cream??
I got 16 4oz bottles from FA this morning and forgot the Vanilla Swirl.

Hi Robin, I third the dislike for CAP Custard Vanilla v2.

Hi robin, I see you are going to diy too, another one from the CV thread, welcome!!!! Yeah, Everyone listed what I'd reccomend creams already...vanilla swirl and cap sweet cream, a bavarian too, nor do I like cap v2 either

Funny how that happens! Glad to see you
I suppose after sampling every "premium" juice on the planet I figure out that it just ain't worth it!
Are there more from the CV thread than you and me? I haven't paid close enough attention yet - too overwhelmed!

I love custards and creams and vanillas... that's pretty much all I vape.

I'm still kinda new at this but so far all the recipes I like have at least 2 or 3 of these flavors :

Bavarian Cream (TFA original - has diketones - Andria says the DX is good too but I haven't tried it)
Vanilla Custard (CAP)
Vanilla Swirl (TFA)
Cheesecake (TFA)
Yellow Cake (FW)
Marshmallow (TFA)

I recently got some flavors I'm playing a lot with, and I think they are going to be joining the list above soon :

Vienna Cream (FA)
Dulce de Leche (TFA)

ETA : Most of these probably have diketones, I never check... sorry!

Hi Robin, I third the dislike for CAP Custard Vanilla v2.

Hmm, I really couldn't say -- never tried those. Worth a try I suppose; the Inawera Shisha Strawberry is FANTASTIC! It might not be exactly the same, but might still be really good!

This is my recipe:

(original)

Inawera Shisha Strawberry 16%
TFA DX Bavarian Cream 6%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 4.5%
CAP Sweet Cream 2%
TFA Sweetener 2%
TFA Sour 0.3%

That comes to 30.8% flavoring. I'm working on reducing it, but going slowly, so I don't mess up the flavor; I've gotten it down to 29.25% thus far, and it's still excellent:

Inawera Shisha Strawberry 15.5%
TFA DX Bavarian Cream 5.5%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 4.2%
CAP Sweet Cream 1.8%
TFA Sweetener 2%
TFA Sour 0.25%

For both, the TFA Sour is not really required; it helps it to not get too-sweet as it sits on the counter, when I make a large (60ml or more) qty. And the sweetener is definitely "to-taste" -- I like it sweet, so it might not be a bad idea to start with 1% sweetener, and see if you really want it to be sweeter -- all the ingredients are fairly sweet in their own right. No steeping or anything fancy required, though it's better the next day, and the longer it sits, the stronger and sweeter it gets.

I forgot that i had to substitute the Shisha with TFA Ripe Strawberry so i added another 2% sweetener to get it right and it rocks as a shake 'n vape. Hardly wait to taste it in the morning. Thank's again Andria, it exceeded my expectations.

That was exactly how I felt, when I first mixed it -- WOW! I really CAN make my own ejuice! :D Haven't been as successful with blueberry, but maybe that's because I haven't yet found the right blueberry flavor... I'm ok with that, I've been vaping this strawberry for over 7 months as my ADV, and it continues to please.
