Favourite 'free' software?

This is a completely off e-cigs subject but I am curious as to what 'free' software people love...I think Picassa is great but I also think Photoscape is actually much better for photo editing.
Open Office is an absolutely brilliant piece of free software but for simple word processing I quite like a free program called Rough draft.

Audacity is brilliant fun for playing around with a music file.

My favourite email is Thunderbird and Firefox is still the browser I use most of the time. Any particular favourites anyone??

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of great video editors for free. So I just stick with windows movie maker.

For burning cd's I use CDburnerXP ...that's become quite a good piece of software now.

Oh, speaking of both videos and burning, I use VLC media player instead of Window Media Player and Daemon Tools for mounting disc images rather than burning usually.

I actually like windows movie maker a lot. Virtualbox is free from Sun, and absolutely amazing. It has really chewed into VMWare's marketshare.

oh and I use Avast anti-virus... that's been a good one so far.
and have recently installed Outpost firewall.....which seems to be quite good as well
Oh yes and I do use Adaware.
And yet another freebie I like is ccleaner.
