Yes. Can't wait 'till the new new slotted wicks come out.

i am really liking the slotted wick, i recieved a couple last week to test. not sure how much different the results would be with a 30g or 32g set-up compared to the regular round wick, although mr gdeal had made these comparisons last week and noted only a slight difference. but with 28g or lower gauge and lower resistances i have found the slotted wicks to perform at least 25 percent better. i find the flavor to be a little better, the vape is more instant now, and the airflow seems smoother its like the vape is just flowing better, also it does seem to wick faster. all these improvements are slight, but overall they add up to a better vape imo.

Great to hear that's working out really well. None of my coils have loosened up either since I wound them some 10 days ago or so, still all the same. See how quick juice flows down after a quick tipping ... on mine nearly instant. Still enjoying the best vapes I've ever had. An equivalent SS setup cannot touch this, even in terms juice gotten to the coil or vapor produced.

To serve as a guide when securing the wire to the neg screw and running around the outside of the wick so as not to accidentally bump into and break an FC-2000. Was just a little safety thing I penciled in.

Yeah, drill bit not needed if you know what you are doing. Was mostly an instruct for noobies, as they're more prone to break a wick.

Most excellent. Cheers ...:toast:

thanks buddy

25% better! Looks like I need to go for a sub 1ohm coil on the slotted wick.

BTW Mr Vapdivrr, the slotted wick with 30g at 1.5 ohms improved greatly. Very similar to pre-hot wrap coils, the gaps take time to get seasoned. So since that previous post about 5 days ago, I have put another 10+mls through the atty and it now vaping better than a non-slotted wick. Juice flow is great. :) Pure wicking seems about the same though...:( But all hot wire TH is totally gone. :).. I did cut my own slots (4 in total) which are about .75mm across and about .25mm deep so YMMV. Anybody have dimensions or a close up pic of the manufactured slotted wicks?

Here is what my coil looks like now. No sun light under those gaps....(well maybe a bit on those lower two coils...) I hate breaking down perfectly good setups, but it seems to happen a lot.....goodby 30g, 28g here I come.

havent really felt much of a difference in TH, but to be honest i havent thought about it so maybe i may have to check out that comparison, but if unknowingly have not felt the difference in TH, then most likely its equivelent to a roundy. although i did post some pics of the slotteds some pages ago i had the slotts turned away so you cant really see them, i can retake and post, as for the dimentions of the channels, not really sure if i can measure with a ruler but your wick looks pretty darn close. all i can say about these wicks is that you especially know that i have been favoring my 3/32 wick set-up over any other, but this 1/8 slotted w/28g is now out performing all else. also when i did this slotted set-up it was done with a hot wrap so its not the difference in the new electrically annealed method that i use now. i guess if you go with the 28g will you do a 2/3 or 3/4? i did a 2/3 @ 0.7Ω and is a freak.

Ok...time to get my "freak-on"..more to come on that...

I went back and looked at your picture of the production slotted FC-2000. I did a pixel count measurement of the distances. It looks like your channels are about .45mm compared to my homebrew at .75mm and not nearly as deep. It may explain my hot-wire TH effect. Thanks, now I need to go to DV and get some of these new wicks.....lol

I finally got a set up with ceramic. The difference is HUGE! All coils glowing even instantly is odd for me. Ordered more today from DV. The 1/8 is a perfect fit for the rsst. I did notice the break in time everyone talks about. But I always had a 1/2 tank of metallic taste with SS anways as I don't really like to oxidize other than pulsing. Set it up earlier and it has been getting better every time I touch it.
I wish I had jumped on this earlier. Now to get some 28g. I am not a fan of the ribbon, but havent used it on the ceramic yet.

I thought the RSST took a 1.5" wick and not a 1.75". I measure the one on mine and it is 1.5". Or are you going to just cut them down? That is what Eric told me to do. I am going to order some tomorrow when I get to the bank and deposit some money if they are still in stock. I ordered 2 packs of 7/64 for my AGA-T+'s and DID clones.

I just snapped them off. Broke 3 trying to snap them off yesterday. Today I used sharp wire cutters and had no problems. And just got done redoing it with ribbon just to see.....Ribbon is def better on these IMO. I honestly have never had a better vape.
Rsst, Smoktech natural, 1/8th ceramic, and 3 wraps of kanthal ribbon. What a set up for the price.
And with the way this is vaping all my other genesis tanks are being put away. Got a couple of aga t2s coming in a co op, but they will be bored to 1/8

i actually did a few by hand and didn't have any issues, but i think the over-engineered "safest" way to do it would be to score a groove with a file, then grip on either side of the groove with a pair of pliers in each hand and snap. kinda like how glass is cut (although with special tools, not pliers). if you have a vise to hold the longer part of the wick while you snap off the end, that would work well, too. you could even hold the wick down on a sharp table edge and snap off the end. the key is to make sure all of the stress is directed at the place you want to snap the wick. i used by thumb nails to do that, but ymmv.

yes dv has ceramic in stock right now, the 1/8 are 1.75 lenght and are slotted, they also have 7/64 x 1.5, the 1/8 are the only ones that are slotted
bummer for me. I just tried to order the new slotted 1.75", no luck... used my US cc, had it delivered to my bro in Vegas since they don't send to Israel directly and still 'Merchant does not accept transactions from Israel'. looks like DV has zapped a few countries...
Anyways F$%^ I so wanted those wicks....

A good word for tanks tho; a couple months ago I ordered 3 3packs from tank that never arrived. The guy, Eric (another one it seems:)) sent the order again and got it yesterday. I have to give them props for the service as they probably didn't make much of a margin on this one...

Hey DS, I had the same problem with DV. According to Elias, if you send him a message he can manually authorize your payment. I have just tried this by making the payment (which is refused) and then sending him an email to authorize it (with details of the attempted transaction). I will let you know how I go. The first time this happened I tried to reason with him but to no avail. Based on Elias' update I will give it one more shot.

Yeah, WHERE the transaction from. Canada was never a problem for DV, but now they won't let my transaction through either, even though they have all my details. Seems it has gotten worse.
