The DID is actually the only one I can close with a screw. Its just that at 20 watts, closing the fill hole is usually not an option.
The good thing is that the FC is already able to sustain a 20 watt setup with a closed fill hole (which is already a wow factor) but it produces less vapor. If I can't eat the whole cake I'll just go back to a 1ohm setup...
I've seen ppl building really angry coils on Nextel, that may be an option too...

the lowest coil I have is a 28g at 0.7 on mechanical, this one is the ac-9 & vela, fill hole open. it performs really well, not sure if I were to close it up.

that's a 20 watts right there... I don't think I went under .7 either, all I know is the provari won't measure it! lol

Since I got my March 2013 FC-2000s (non-slotted) set up with 28ga Kanthal, I sort of lost the itch to tinker with them because they've been working flawless for what? ... must be getting close to 2 months now, no cleaning, nothing, just add juice -- like it works right out of the box.

Now it's just sit back & enjoy time ... and if I worry about anything it's that I don't want to spend an hour setting one back up again. Hey, by the time one does break down I may have forgotten how to coil it ... lol

These things are so reliable now that I no longer take a back-up with me on short errands.

Man, I love my RBAs, the 3 mechs and the new jaw-dropping high drain Orby 2900s I just got. What was an endless chain of complaints about vaping hardware just a few months back, has become the smoothest quit-smoking ride imaginable. Too much s**t to learn and too much money wasted to get to this point, but in the end it was worth the journey. Knowledge is power. I envy the future vaping generation ... lol

Picked up an Orby 29 myself, although the switch now has a 2mil gap from the increased lenght, which i knew of before purchase, the increase in max vapage is worth it.

That would be more logic
The papers here are now quoting the FDA stuff (anti freeze etc..)
Had the FDA done some FDA work (regulating) instead of reviving the whole prohibition era, there probably wouldn't be any pure nic smuggling... just a thought.

Good luck with that situation you've got going there

yah its a 2/3 wrap on an fc 1/8 wick. sometimes I can do a 2/3 and it does register on the provari, so in those instances I suppose the wick was just a tad thicker because it was a roundy wick, but I haven't been able to do a 2/3 wrap with a channeled that will register on the provari, so I believe the slotted's are a smidgen smaller. I think the only way I could go lower is with some 26g wire right? because with 28g and the 1/8 wick I would have to do a 1/2 wrap, which I don't think would be that good. you use 25g wire right? so how many wraps do you do with that? a 3/4 ?

so this orby is a new type of battery? it lasts a lot longer? what mod do you run it in?

Orbtronic- 10 amp-2900 mah 18650 High Drain Zen~ Ti- Standard there are also some 3600 mahs floating around they are pretty big and i don't know what they fit, the max output in the desired range of 4.2-3.7 is longer, depending on your own personal use.

I didn't really mean to go under .8 ohm. its just that a 5 wrap of 25g won't get there. but my guess is that I miss it by a couple of hundredth... I need to buy a ohmmeter!
If you look at it, you may understand the kind of coverage you get for a .7~.75... I found you need the coverage to deploy that kind of power on a wick or the taste will be way off. And btw, contrary to what ppl think (ie that ceramic can't handle power), the FC is the only one I know that can handle this hands down (fishstix can't, german can't) hopefully the bd13 will...

I gotta try that wire, im ordering some right after this post. I do like the idea of that much coverage compared to my 2/3 wrap of 28g. the only thing I might find different is the heat -up time compared to my set-up. I love the instant vape the 2/3 gives me and would imagine that the 25g and extra wraps may take a little more time to get going, but all in all I would rather have a more flavorful vape and just prehold the fire button before vaping if I find it lagging. and I agree about the fc's ability to handle the 20 watts of power, in my normal angle of vaping the wick keeps up with no problems at 0.7Ω.

I only have an iphone camara.. spent all my money on vape stuffs. Here is my pic of my 28g 4 wrap on 7/32 in an aga-i. used 2 days, it is the best vape so far. kills my ss #400 hand roll, SS wire + cotton insulator wick. God i love my ceramic... But it took me an hour to get this coil n wick set up. Will it come faster in the future? Only using hot method, big thanks to all who have posted here.

Yes and no... It might get faster when you're less careful with the wick. I always take my time because I'm afraid of breaking one. But its worth it.

I had my apv in my back pocket and was working outside, bending and moving, the cap came loose and when i went to vape, i found a floatie---twice, i quess the wick snagged on some cloth or something.

Yeah, I hear you mate. That is why I like the DIDs so much (screw top). At the moment though I am rocking a piece of wick in a Kayfun 3.1. No chance of that cap coming loose either. Love also how there is no wick hole to worry about lining up and you can hold it upside down all day without leaking a drop. Just lovin this thing :).
