Also, writing letters to elected officials, was suggested by casaa, strongly. I did quite a bit of emailing individual letters to congress representatives and senators, over the winter months. It's seems like whizzing in the wind, though. Sorry, I am kind of ...... off too! We really have to take care of our own needs, but at the same time, try and make it right for millions of other dying smokers, that could save their lives the way we KNOW DARN WELL WORKS! and till now has been more affordable than SMOKING ourselves to death.

CASAA is still a grass roots org and only as strong as it's members. Speakers have gone to hearings, vapers have drowned legislators in letters, faxes and calls when "Calls to Actions" are issued. If we get enough people responding, we can make a difference - and have in a few proposed bans.

CASAA directors have spoken before the FDA and conferences as able. I hope someday that CASAA has enough funding to do more on our behalf but until more people get involved donating/writing letters/etc... It's tough to fight big money anti groups, big pharma, etc.

Join, donate...come to the meetings - see how you can help. If we all did, we would be a force to be reckoned with in my honest opinion.

Here are some success stories from CASAA to hopefully offer hope and inspire more to fight for the cause:

Successful Campaigns

Oh... CASAA also supports other forms of smokeless as well ;) Not just ecigs but harm reduction as a whole. Can you tell I love CASAA?? ROFL!!

I just read a post in the New Members section (falke, a member from Cyprus) that, I think, sums up the situation around the world:

"they are going mental here in the Ministry of Health, all of a sudden concerened about our "health" but when we smoked 2 packs a day, that was fine... "

I've been saying this stuff for around a year. Much money is invested in the largest population base of aging people ever on the planet at the same time. To lose us to our good health is not what they have invested in. Jobs, Careers, and profits of corporations that are worse than any "big government" you could ever imagine, are what's driving this current economy. Here is a short list of growing industries:
1.)HEALTHCARE
2.)PHARMACEUTICALS
3.)OXYGEN TANKS AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES
4.)OUT OF SIGHT HEALTHCARE INSURANCE PLANS
5.)NICOTINE ANTI SENTIMENT, (NOT SMOKING) NICOTINE
6.)AMBULATORY SERVICES
7.)CREMATION SERVICES
8.)LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES
9.)HOME FORCLOSURES
10.)AVAILABILITY OF OVER THE COUNTER SELF HELP DRUGS (DWINDLING)
11.)PRIVACY LAWS
12.)TWELVE STEP RECOVERY PROGRAMS ELEVATED TO A STATUS RESEMBLING THE CHURCH STATE OF THE DARK AGES
13.)UNEMPLOYMENT FOR PEOPLE OVER 50 RISING
14.)MENTAL HEALTH JOBS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS BECOMING INVASIVE AND ALL INCLUSIVE
15.)CHANTIX OK ACCORDING TO THE FDA NO MATTER WHAT THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE DOCUMENTED TO HAVE CAUSED.
16.)EVERY 5 MINUTES A PHARMACEUTICAL COMMERCIAL ON T.V., THAT MAKES FOOLS OUT OF ANYONE NEEDING RELIEF FROM ILLNESSES. BY LISTING THE KNOWN POSSIBLY GO WRONGS, YET KEEPING THESE PRODUCTS AVAILABLE ANYWAY.
17.)LAWS THAT ALLOW UNDER 21 YEAR OLDS TO BECOME ADDICTED TO SMOKING.
18.)FEAR SPREADING LIE SPREADING POLITICAL ANTIs EVEN IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
Well I said short list and I am sure we can all add on here!
19.) FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS, THE ONLY FOOD LOW INCOME PEOPLE CAN AFFORD TO EAT!
what can we do??????????????????????????? go underground???????????????????????? make our own churches where vaping is a ritual protected by law?????????????????? Get in bed with BIG TOBACCO euhhhhh la lahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Buy our organic tobacco juice from them, and use it for sacrament etc., Buy up land in South America and grow our own, plus the cost of living there is more affordable and a lot of our jobs are in the Philippines, nice white collar jobs. It may be time for a mass exodus it didn't hurt the Jews to leave Egypt, when it was necessary. The Boston Tea Party, we could buy millions of packs of cigarettes a toss em in the big pond at the Washington Monument. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! LOL LAUGH TILL IT HURTS. WHAT? EVEN A BIG SENATOR FROM ALABAMA, WROTE TO ME PERSONALLY, WHEN THEY REMOVED THE ANTI E-CIGARETTE PORTION OF THEIR BILL A WHILE BACK, WHETHER IT'S BEEN OVER TURNED AGAIN I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED. THIS IS A COUNTRY WITH A PARASITIC DEATH WISH TO THE TUNE OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN PROFITS, AND NOTHING TO HELP THE DEFICIT!

Laurel099 and Simplyme- Thanks for your posts, you inspired me to make a donation. Since we don't have much money, I didn't make a donation before but I think most of us could at least afford a couple of dollars. I also started a thread that encourages other people to donate, I hope it helps out. After reading through CASAA's website, I have become a big fan as well and I signed up to become a regional rep. I hope their hard work and efforts pay off and that the people that would be most affected by regulation offer the support that CASAA needs.

will everybody who joins CASAA vote for whoever CASAA says to vote for, regardless if they are a republican or democrat? everybody who joins CASAA will need to vote for the candidate that will help the e-cig industry and NOT vote for anybody that is against the e-cig industry. regardless if they are republican or democrat. will this happen? is this happening now? that is a voting bloc. that is what gets the potential candidates attention. that is what motivates them to do what you want them to do.. votes!

if all the smokers banned together when they ( the government ) started making their stupid rules and regulations and raising taxes on cigarettes, by creating a true voting bloc.. we wouldn't have this mess we see today. now its up to the vapers to make sure this doesn't happen to them.

Join CASAA,volunteer, donate money, and support it strongly. That is our voting bloc. The more people on ECF that help, the stronger we will become. Our hardest workers are going to burn out if more vapors don"t step up to the plate.

$50 for ten mls of liquid. Could you imagin. It would cost me 500 a month. No way is 10 mls is a carton.

It wouldn't go too far. Youtube would be full of videos telling people how to make their own and it would become almost common knowledge, as if it isn't already to every avid vaper.

You have to remember that while most people can't go grow their own tobacco, most people can easily make their own e-juice given a simple calculator and a few pipettes.

where would they get e-juice with nicotine from? they might ban all imports of nicotine. they are already starting to do that in places. trying to get things through customs in some places it getting harder to do.

Therein lies the big question. Nobody knows, yet. Many of us may drop nicotine altogether to keep it cheap.

If you can grow tomatos then you can grow tobacco. And many tobacco plant variants don't even grow as tall as tomato plants, I've been told. Directions and seed info here.

I will not be swayed, no matter how much anyone wants to vilify me.

There are already sources of domestic nic juice, for example RTS Vapes, so importation is not an issue. Taxes, etc., will probably be an issue though, leading to growing your own, or paying extra taxes perhaps.

I'd be leery of suggesting anyone try to extract nicotine on their own. Tobacco pickers have gotten nic poisoning just picking wet plants :( Same with DIY'ing using pure nic. Risky business and no one should experiment with that without some serious research....and safety equipment. Most DIY folks don't use pure nic but diluted to 36, 48, 60 or 100mgs even. Proceed with caution if anyone works on experimenting w/ pure nic or tobacco extraction IMHO.

Modified Risk Tobacco Product Applications:
In hopes that the FDA which is a "Big Government" organization, which is growing less appreciated by the average tax paying and voting USA citizen, that you curtail, your decision to require "deeming" where the sale of electronic personal vaporizers is concerned. Since 2010, I have used this device and my health has improved significantly. I am able to climb stairs, ride a bicycle and more at the age of nearly 60. I began smoking unfortunately in my early teens. I have suffered severe bronchitis and breathing problems, after 40 years of smoking tobacco. Now I use the nicotine without smoke, and my sense of smell, taste and my overall health have significantly improved. I am hoping to continue being able to satisfy my addiction to nicotine in a far less expensive or destructive way, than smoking is. The small companies that are in place over the past few years, somewhat grassroots operations, have been able to educate and instruct smokers on how to use and maintain these devices safely and effectively. Of course a couple of mishaps the media has noticed and a couple of mistakes have been made and blown clear out of proportion, by false fear spreading which the FDA also adds to with false misleading statements. Statements that say, there are no "proven to be safe tobacco alternative products in existence" . A million or more of us vapors can testify that our health has improved. It's my cough that's gone, it's my sense of smell and taste that has returned, and it's my pleasure to not be burning holes in my upholstery or worse. My teeth aren't turning yellow anymore. I can be active without wheezing. My complexion is better, even my eyesight, all of this has been proven to be the real benefits of not SMOKING!!! The use of nicotine, not to be confused with smoking. Big Pharmaceutical Companies and Big Tobacco, are using tobacco as products and are profiting from this. I oppose the new FDA "deeming" regulations.:):vapor::rickroll:
