MagicMike you are right. It now seems, the ANTZ, with a myriad of negative spinning strategists using controlling tactics with arguments such as:
....it still looks like smoking! LOL ...Next thing it will be.... LOL they are wearing their hair too long, and blue jeans too tight and they're having sex outside of marriage. I don't know your age MagicMike, I only know mine and going up against the establishment, takes a majority and sadly bloody clashes were what it took to end the Viet Nam War(still ongoing, different geography), to promote equality of the sexes (still ongoing) and to address racism(still ongoing). If you were there during the 60's - 70's, it took massive demonstrations, picket signs, and marches on DC and every State Capitol. We may have to do the same, in our fight, by the numbers of smokers daily that seek the promise land of everything you like about the hand to mouth habit and nothing you didn't! The same generation, I think statistics, might show the average age, the base of e-cigarette users, are usually people who've smoked 15-50 years, enough time, to have consequences or health issues, not to mention all the social stigma, the shame on you dirty dog, go to the curb, the finger waiving, your ruining your health, the price by pack (taxes) and the unemployment issues. Cars without ashtrays and on. They are fighting the behavior, which is our alienable Civil Right! The pursuit of happiness. Oh, and most recently, Obama Health care won't be available to smokers readily, unless they are using BIG PHARMA, meaning increases the profits of huge corporations, to HAHAHA "Never Quit Quitting" :vapor::2c::toast::rickroll::rickroll::rickroll:

So Calif
Bookmarked. Get ready vapers, EVERYONE needs to respond to the Call To Action when it arrives. Think about what you are going to say now, perhaps write it out and save it, then review it in a few days for any revisions. Tell YOUR story.

I've grown more and more cynical about the FDA et al as this has progressed. With the increase in publication of the bash articles lately this could be an ugly deeming. We need to mobilize everyone we know and get them to write on the FDA site when the comments period opens. I mean EVERYONE WE KNOW. Family, friends, non vapers, anyone who will help us fight for our lives, cause that's what this will be.

Removal of flavors, low maximum amounts of nicotine in e liquid, restrictions of devices, all could create the death of benefit to vapers, and keep smokers from trying to make the switch. We cannot let that happen.

I'm curious.. does anyone happen to know the either the American Lung Association or American Heart Association's stance on this. Was just thinking "if only we could get them to lobby for us..." Probably a pipe dream though.

They are lobbying to get e-cigarettes banned.

They are part of the original group that urged the FDA to start seizing electronic cigarette shipments.

And they part of the group that filed this brief with the court in support of the FDA...

As long as Big Pharma keeps paying them, they will keep fighting to eliminate access to electronic cigarettes.
Not only will they never lobby for us, they are actively lobbying against us.

 nevermind.. That really stinks because I have frequently donated to the Heart Association to sponsor my Mother. She suffered a heart attack AND a stroke a few years back as a result of years of heavy smoking, so she always does the annual Heart Walk. (kind of ironic that they don't support the alternative)

And the Canadian Lung Association, for National Non-Smoking Week, encouraged everyone to stop smoking by using any means EXCEPT e-cigs!!!!

" (Ottawa) For National Non-Smoking Week, the Canadian Lung Association encourages people who want to quit smoking to use scientifically proven methods and to avoid gimmicky unproven methods, like electronic cigarettes.

“Don’t be fooled by e-cigarettes. These electronic devices could be potentially harmful to lung health and are not an approved quit smoking aid by either Health Canada or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration,” says Margaret Bernhardt-Lowdon, a tobacco issues spokesperson for the Canadian Lung Association."

My thoughts are "Just Wow!!". Having them discourage people from using something that works so well for so many is just incomprehensible to me.

I went to the website of the American Lung Association and found this, from 2010:

"The American Lung Association welcomes the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) action against five electronic cigarette distributors for various violations of the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act including unsubstantiated claims and poor manufacturing practices.

The American Lung Association urges consumers not to use e-cigarettes or any other products that are not approved by the FDA. Until the FDA determines that e-cigarettes are safe and effective for consumers, the FDA should require their immediate removal from the marketplace."

Might as well consider the American Lung Association to be nothing more than a tool of Big Tobacco.
