They are part of the original group that urged the FDA to start seizing electronic cigarette shipments.

And they part of the group that filed this brief with the court in support of the FDA...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-fda-court-dockets-updates-2.html#post1417775

As long as Big Pharma keeps paying them, they will keep fighting to eliminate access to electronic cigarettes.

Not only will they never lobby for us, they are actively lobbying against us.
Big Pharma has 'Unlimited' funds and no intentions to stop funding those opposed to e-cigarettes !!

Might as well consider the American Lung Association to be nothing more than a tool of Big tobacco.

They are a tool of Big Pharma.

+1 what DC2 said.

In fact, the ALA, AMA, ACS, CFTFK, etc. all pushed for the FDA to get involved with banning e-cigarettes in the first place.

They try to make it seem reasonable to have the FDA make sure e-cigarettes are "safe and effective" (who could argue that is a bad thing, right?), but their idea of "safe" is comparing it to NOT SMOKING rather than determining whether or not they are LESS harmful than smoking; and their definition of "effective" is that the user ultimately ends up tobacco AND nicotine-free within a short time period (ie. "effective" used as a nicotine addiction treatment, which can only get FDA-approval through extremely expensive and time consuming research and FDA fees, not as a permanent smoking replacement.)

I agree, and let's not forget to follow the guidelines of our most organized supporters CASAA.ORG and TOBACCO HARM REDUCTION and SMOKE-FREE PENNSYLVANIA (Bill Godshall)..... We do need to coalition no doubt! Still we need articulate communicators, with track records that prove they can make an argument and get results.

If it became impossible for me to vape, it would be Big Tobacco that resumed getting the "contributions" I made to them for 45 years.

Yes, but how many smokers spent years on the not-so-merry-go-round of smoke, quit attempt with (very expensive) pharmaceutical cessation aids, smoke some more, then another quit attempt with the same or different (very expensive) pharmaceutical cessation aids, and on and on and on, and would continue to be on that nasty cycle for many more years were it not for e-cigs or other smokeless tobacco products?

And let's not forget the billions to be made from chemo and other very expensive drugs used when cancer or cardiovascular disease strikes!

Amen to that. Probably a good part of the reason that there is no cure. Too much $ to be made on treatment. But that is another topic entirely.

Yeah - My point exactly! - and have you seen the Latest?

Azithromycin, better known as "Z-Pac" (Z-Pak), has had the FDA issue a warning because it has
been linked to causing electrical issues in the heart - where it could interfere with normal heart
rhythm.

Honestly... the FDA needs completely shut down and rebuilt!

Are people that damn blind that they cannot see all the issues the FDA has caused by approving
tons of meds over the years only to have more than half recalled or cause death?

The FDA = Nothing more than another joke to feed the people's need for a sense of False Security.

People need to "Think For Themselves" and stop letting everyone else do it for them - this includes
governments and health organizations like the FDA and Health Departments... they are supposed
to follow a protocol or set of regulations or rules and not base findings on "Personal Opinion and
belief"... and it is exactly those "Personal Opinions and Beliefs" that are causing so many so-called
professionals to overlook the obvious and take a stand on the "What If" factors -- Wel...

What if Frogs could Fly :)

I say "What If" we didn't have an FDA?

Seems to me that people got along for thousands of years without them...
Sure, people had to get sick or die in order to find out Tomatoes weren't poisonous and
that certain mushrooms could kill you... That is the chance you take when attempting a
new food.

In my honest opinion... the FDA is doing exactly what they are supposed to be against --
By trying to stop, ban, hinder, or other wise over regulate E-Cigs... they are:
1) Protecting the Cigarette companies, and
2) Proving they are supported by Pharma Companies
3) Proving they are in it for the money and not the benefit of the people.

In other words - they are on the take and couldn't care less about people's health!

Those horrid anti-smoking CDC commercials ...
They're Back on the air !!

This connected with the state-by-state fights we are dealing with ...
It's obvious all those apposed to smoking and e-smoking are ramping it up
in anticipation of the celebration party when the FDA's proposes its demon regulations.

They may be back on the air but ...

So is Blu :)

I have seen several Blu commercials since the Super bowl.

We seem to be fighting bans, restrictions, taxation, etc ... state by state.
<snip>
Whenever one finds an attack on individual liberty on the local level, they can be sure that the same or eerily similar attacks are happening throughout the country. Gov. Ventura exposed the fact that the CIA (and likely even more sinister elements of "shadow government") operate quietly within the state legislatures. Jesse Ventura talks about CIA implanted in State Government, his CIA interrogation and trip to Cuba! (video)
There is always a "bigger plan" at work. Why should it be any different regarding this issue. Legislators are told what to do; not by "we the people", but by their true money masters.
As communication has become easier for US, THEY are getting more desperate in their desire to maintain control, and more importantly, relevance. It is easier than ever before to expose their shenanigans, even when the bought and paid for media ignores the truth in favor of the approved spin.
