FDA to ban Menthol cigarettes

Looks like the FDA is a step closer to banning Menthol cigarettes. How will this likely affect e-cig and e-liquid producers and ultimately us?

If I still smoked you can bet your kid's college fund i wouldn't be above putting a drop of eucalyptus oil on the filter.

Trips me out, the ban on flavors. When I was an underage smoker I couldn't afford the fancypants camel exotics or whatever. I was passing the neighborlady a dollar for a pack of "grand prix" offbrands, back in the day when you could get both a pack of stinkies and a gallon of gas for that much.

I am curious to what the implications might be for vapers who enjoy flavored juice, but I'm of the opinion that the average vaper is savvy enough to drip a few drops of flavor into a bottle of unflavored juice. not that much different from filling a carto yanno.

I've got about 50 bottles of flavor in my box of tricks so come at me bro.

Assuming we don't find ourselves unable to get refillable juice devices and nic they can't really shut down DIY. PG, VG and food flavorings are used for far to many non vaping things.

The choke points are hardware and nic.

My answer is I am cutting down my nic and should be at zero before the FDA deeming stuff hits. I am also setting myself up with rebuildables and mechs. I should be good to vape for a long long time no matter what the FDA does.

My great grandmother put her own menthol on her tobacco. Menthols and cloves have been long rumored to cause more health issues than regular cigarettes. I am just glad I don't smoke anymore. Menthols were a regular thing. People are going to be ....... Also glad I don't work in gas stations anymore, because I would never hear the end of it!

Unless FDA includes ecigs in the ban on menthol cigs (which I see no indication of and I doubt they'd try), it won't affect vapers at all. Menthol crystals are used in so many things; they're easy to come by and easy to incorporate into e-liquid.

I am working on quitting but right now smoke a few Camel Menthols a day, can't stand normal cigs so guess this may be what gets me totally off if it goes through.

Wonder if I could start a "Menthol Breath Spritzer" business over the counter at retail tobacco sellers?

OK, seriously. Although I understand their concerns from a cause->effect perspective, I don't see them banning menthol. At least not effectively. Like post # 5 said. Besides...meh. Not a menthol fan. Although I understood that most cigs contained some menthol but the "regular" ones had very little and the "menthol" ones had a lot.
