A buddy of mine recommended to me an Ego USB Passthrough. I'm guessing is it because of the slightly higher and constant voltage you get using one? At the same time, is the battery being charged for later use when you carry it around on it's own? Can you use a LR carts like the Boge to get a warmer vape and increased vapor production? I'm considering this instead of getting a regular Ego starter kit. Any feedback would be good. :vapor:

I just bought two Joye ego-t kits fro iVape.net for $59.99, when I ordered them I went ahead and bought an ego passthrough. I didn't know that I was buying a bigger battery. I think it might be a larger mah then the normal 650mah, it doesn't say it, biput I think so.
But just to let you know for that twenty bucks, ALL you get is the battery, and a USB cable. No wall charger, no attys, no carts, hell it doesn't even come with the infamous cone that makes them look streamlined, now don't get me wrong, I love having it, but only because I also have anJoye Ego-T kit, and a T-Rex kit (an Ego clone) both of them came with all the acoutroments, I would only buy an ego type passthrough IF I already had an ego type kit, otherwise you really aren't saving money on the whole thing, you might even be spending more, there are some other options though. Check out Liberty Flights website, in the upper left hand side of the site they have a 20% off button, push that button before shopping, and you can buy a Joye-Ego clone called a Riva 510 kit for the wonderful price of $29.99, for that price you get two of everything!
Well I try to tell everybody about deals like that, because when I got started I wasted well over $300 getting started, if I had it all to do it all over again I would skip all of the stuff I bought and go straight to the Joye Ego-T kit, I bought two, one was for my wife, and she fell in love with the simplicity of vaping with the Tank kits.
I tried using a low resistance cartomizer once with my T-Rex (I bought 5), and personally found out that I hated it. It got WAY TOO HOT, I didn't like the hot vapor, but I also bought normal carto's, and found out I hated them too, so it is all very subjective from individual to individual.
Good luck!
And welcome to the forum, and to the wonderful world of vaping!

The eGo passthrough is nice because you can leave it on the USB cable to charge, but when disconnected, you can use it just like any eGo battery. It comes with an end cap to cover the USB receptacle when using it this way. You can use it with the LR carts. I use eGos with Joye LR atties exclusively and it's my favorite combination. I think the actual battery is close to the 650mAh or less performance wise. I would agree with the others though, that this would make a good addition to a kit and not necessarily an only device. Whether it's USB or not, keep in mind that if you buy this instead of a kit, you would be relying only one battery - never a good thing.
