Hello Every one,

Been vaping for exactly a week and not missed smoking one bit, still finding my feet using A Jacvapour Mini Vgo, with crystal tanks, really pleased with how they work at the moment, but just reading through the stuff on here get the impression that I will soon be moving on to new Kit,

Couple of questions though,

What is the advantage of VV batteries, and should I have a home kit and a work Kit?

Is it possible to work out vaping to cigarette equivalents, ie if i vape a certain ml of juice that would equal x number of cigarettes?

I ask this as my wife is worried that I have swapped one bad habit for another, And I vape more frequently than I smoked

Whatever you feel most comfortable with vaping, go with it. The shop where I buy my juice equates 24 mg nic level to full flavor cigarettes, 18 to lights, 12 to ultra light, etc. It's all a personal preference thing.

You will find yourself vaping more often than you smoked for two reasons. One, you get less nicotine overall, so your body craves it more often. Second, it just tastes soo good.

The biggest side effect I've found is that I REALLY want to clean my house and truck all the time. I used to smoke in both, and now that I can smell it, I'm not happy with it, lol.

Tell your wife that, while you have replaced a bad habit, you've enhanced your health because you're no longer inhaling toxins. Most of it is water vapor, which is found in the air all the time anyway. You're also getting rid of the bad breath, yellow teeth, stinky clothes, hair, home, and fingers, and will soon start coughing your head off getting rid of all the accumulated junk in your lungs.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on giving up the analogs

Question 1

VV - the biggest advantage for VV is the ability to dial in your sweet spot for flavor and vapor production on your juices based on the ohm rating of your delivery device, be it a carto, clearo, or tank - not all juices will taste good at the same voltage - a very good starter VV device is an ego twist or vision spinner - if size doesn't matter the vamo is a VV/VW (VW will set the voltage to the ohms detected and you just set the desired wattage that that particular juice vapes at best - no need to memorize an ohm/volt/watt chart - although I believe ther are some phone apps out there that will calculate it based on ohms and volts)

Question B

There is no exact answer but this may be helpful (I did not want to just copy and plagiarize - I mean paste)

Breaking it down

Hope this helps

While it's not particularly important to have a home kit and a work kit, it IS important to have (at least) two. You don't want to have a nic fit waiting for a battery to charge - or for the mail to come because your coil burned out or you dropped and broke something!

There are said to be somewhere over 4000 different chemicals in a cig. Typically, e-juice has about 4 - PG, VG, nicotine, and flavor. Well, the flavor is probably a mix on its own, but you get the idea. And NO carbon from burning. No tiny particles to lodge in the lungs. So it's inherently a lot less harmful. None of the ingredients in e-juice are known carcinogens. There is no carbon monoxide. No smoke, first or second hand.

"Safe"? Who knows. Less harmful? By about 3996 times!

Good advice on the EGo twists. I use them for carry around devices.

It's ok to vape more than you smoked. Especially at first. You'll find a rhythm for yourself soon enough.

If you are chain vaping because you like it, that is ok. If you are chain vaping because you feel you need to or because you aren't satisfied, you may need to up your nic level.

I understand where your wife is coming from. It is good she worry for you. She will likely become more supportive as time goes on and she sees the benefits from vaping.

Still to this day, I think it is a little odd seeing other people vape.

The reason why I like my VV mod is because it allows me to buy whatever carto or clearo I want to try, on a whim. I also have some Ego-sized 3.7v batteries and I only throw single coil LR cartos on them. But if I see something interesting on a website that happens to be dual coil or higher than 2.5 ohm, or whatever it may be, I can be assured that it will still work on my VV without (A) draining the battery too fast or (B) not getting enough power to produce sufficient vapor (both things can happen with an Ego).

As far as having a home and work kit, what I like to do is leave my VV sitting on my desk or next to the TV at home, and then use the smaller batts for when I leave the house. With that said, I must sadly admit I STILL (after years of vaping) feel weird doing it in public, so I often pop in a Nicorette lozenge instead.

As for your wife, well... tell her you replaced a habit that kills people with one that doesn't. That's about all there is to it. ;)

1. Vaping is not as efficient in getting nicotine into your system as smoking is, so there is no way to equate what/how you smoked to how/what you vape. 16mg - 24mg is the average nicotine level vaped based on several polls.

2. If you are considering going variable, consider a variable watt (VW) along with a VV model. VW has some definite advantages over VV, as it is closer to being "set & forget". Vamo, Zmax and Evic are examples of some popular VW model PV's.

I have a friend that uses a passthrough type at work and loves it. I personally just make sure I have and backup battery to my backup. One on charge, one to use and a spare emergencies. Good luck to you. Be proud of yourself, this is a true accomplishment. The information and support you receive at this forum is splendid.

GO with what is comfortable for you.

I bought a Vamo 2 weeks in not because I particularly felt pressured to or that I needed to upgrade. I did it for the big batteries and it seemed the most bang for the buck in a price range I could afford. I live in an area where hurricanes and multi-day power outages are a very real concern. Being able to charge up half a dozen big batteries before the storm and not worrying about having a battery to vape with in an extended power outage was my motivating factor in the purchase. I do not want to go back to stinkies because of a hurricane. :)

Welcome to ECF markent! And Congrats to switching to e-cigs. You do vape more in the beginning, there is a learning curve to this and your at the right place (ECF). You have gotten some good suggestions from the other posters here so I won't add anything at this time as I agree with their suggestions. Good luck and vape on.
