boshans - I hear ya, unfortunately, your logic is flawed. They do not have any obligation to serve us anything they do not wish, at all. I don't believe that I understand their motives as a business, I just look at the simple facts of any situation, and react on that, rather than react on an emotion (anger) because I cannot get what I want.
I also don't believe this to be a marketing ploy, purposely disabling Boba's/Gorilla to swell up customer demand. Who really wishes to put that on their self? The consistent tickets, the angry threads, emails, PM's, etc. And even if by chance it were true, so what, they've the right to do what ever they wish with their product/business (within legal reasoning, of course). Just as everyone here has the right not to purchase their wares if they so desire. That sounds callous, and harsh, but it's the truth of the matter.
Now, back to my original point (not believing that it's a marketing ploy) - Step back, and look at the situation from a different view point. Ben had made mention that he shuts down the ordering system daily when they reach approximately 300 orders. Think about that for a moment, 300 orders. Not 300 bottles, orders. That's huge, mang. Now think about how fast the store stays open... what, minutes? An hour, sometimes? Now, imagine if the store was open 24/7.
Would it make you feel better if the store was open all of the time, and instead of being locked out from ordering one day, you would have to wait an additional 'x' amount of days before your order was processed and shipped (think about the size of that back order...)?
Now, let's pretend that they order all of the flavorings needed for these recipes from one source, (though, I do not know if this is true, or not), how can that source keep up with AV's demand? It's pure insanity. When I see a comment like, "It's a business, they should have this figured out", it makes me think of the WalMart mentality, in that, we, as consumers, just expect the product to be available all of the time, and in our hands as soon as we demand it.
Thus why you say, "hire more people", right? That doesn't always solve the issue. If they cannot get flavorings, they cannot make juice. I don't know how else to explain it.
And trust me, if I had to put my vote on the matter, I'd vote for availability all of the time as well. But I won't get angry at them because even if it is their choice, rather than an outside influence (which seems to be the case, most, if not all of the time).
