Well, the other day I was lurking around reosmods website and happened on a purple one. All of a sudden I hear an 'oooooo!' from Lisa. ' I LIKE that' she says... so guess who is getting a Reo for Christmas?

I was thinking of getting her a Mini since she has small hands, but other than that I have no idea what else I will need to have in the box for her. Is an RM2 the atomizer to get? That is a 510 connection on top, right? Do I need to request a modified air flow? She normally likes about a 1.2mm draw. What extras do I need to put in my cart when placing this order?

Yep, RM2 is the way to go but you could also grab a few LR atties too just in case.

The connection is a 510 but tanks and such won't fit due to the catch cup, but since it's bottom fed it kinda defeats the purpose of tanks.

I would leave the airhole alone and drill it later if need be, but if you request it i'm pretty sure Rob would oblige.

As for extras, I'd get:

- several 3ml bottles
- spare RM2 screws
- several o-rings (both sizes)
- a spare spring or 2
- button cover
and maybe a 3ml bottle/tube kit

Are you building coils now? Do you have wire and wick? Reosmods has wire and silica you can purchase.

For the Mini 2.1 she will need some AW IMR 18490 batteries. Three should be good. You can find them at many vendors but RTD is good. Use code ECF5 for 5% off your purchase.

I agree with the list above. You do get two bottles with a new REO so you might not need more.

She should be all set with those extras!

One thing I wish I had known was that the Reo takes button top batteries. You can also use 18500 batteries too, just make sure you get button tops.

The RM2 does really make the Reo shine, but this is kind of dependent on how well you build it. I have some extra 510 attys just in case my RM2 goes out while it is out on the town with me.

LR = low resistance? I had assumed that you could build any resistance coil you desired? I generally build my Genny's about .9-1.2Ω. What limitations are there on the RM2? I am planning on building micro coils with hemp for the Reo. I did read somewhere that he is coming out with a low resistance kit.. can you really NOT build these however you like?

What is the deal with button tops vs flat top batteries? I have both so it is not a problem.

The firing pin on the reo is designed for button tops. You might not get good contact with flat tops which will result in a lackluster vape.

The rm2 is a rebuildable so you can make it to any ohm's you wish, I think he was referring to Low Resistance tube style atomizers.

The kit you refer to, will help to decrease the voltage drop on the reo, this is designed for low sub-ohm vapers.

The contact on the metal REO's is somewhat flexible. It was designed to travel down to a certain point to make contact. The button top batteries were used to design the contact travel.

Over time using the flat-top batteries will cause stress on the contact.

Also as was said they might not give optimal performance because of the angle of contact.

The RM2 can run any ohm coil you want to make.

With the battery size of the Mini 2.1 you will notice a drop in run time with the lower ohm coils. But the 3.7v battery will power them just fine.

By LR I meant the premade 510 atomizers like the EM or smok atties, The RM2 is rebuildable so set it up however you want. The sub ohm kit is for people who want to go really low sub ohm. As is, the Reo will push a 0.5 ohm with no problem but the kit will make less voltage drop so any resistance should kick a bit harder and give better battery life.

If you go with the rm2, which is excellent, get a couple of springs, just in case. Everyone makes mistakes now and then. I was very happy to have ordered the kit when a metal drip tip went in a little to far and caught a tag end. Rookie mistake, but with the kit I was back in business in five minutes, instead of waiting a week for a tiny piece of metal to cross the continent!

okay, all is well then. I don't have any intentions of going THAT extreme with my builds. about 1Ω is fine with me. Is the RM2 a single or dual coil setup? What about the Cyclone from Vicious Ant?

The RM2 coilers here make all kinds and shapes of coils, i will try to find the thread or maybe someone else will :) I have seen the dual coil so it is possible...

Well you can't go wrong with the RM2. If you're not going extreme the RM2 has you covered. If you want to go extreme I've seen triple coils on the RM2. Again the RM2 has you covered. $43 for the RM2 that was made for this mod vs $59 for the cyclone that wasn't. It's up to you. I'd say the RM2 everyday.

I believe is set up for a single coil, but a lot of the coil building guru's have been quite inventive with dual coils. You can see some of their genius in this thread.

Oh thanks that is the best thread ever, and here is a post from that link showing a 3 coil setup :) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/389074-micro-coil-rba-your-reo-60.html#post10747487
