Y'ello,

After having lurked around the forum for nearly a month, I have finally decided to register in order to, hopefully, take part in the vaping community.

I've been cigarette-free for a little over a month now. I was a little-over-a-pack a day smoker (Camel Crush,) but haven't picked up a single cigarette since I began this whole vaping thing. Funnily enough, I was across the street from a cigarette store when I just randomly had an idea to see if they had some sort of e-cig set-up to try. It was entirely a lark, and it seems to have paid off.

Since all they had was a disposable single-use unit, I picked one up ( Square Smoke, menthol of course), and was blown away. I was so excited by the, what I now know to be a relatively underwhelming, experience, I got my .... online to find out information.

Of course, being a newbie, I was too much in a rush to figure out the right set-up for me, and just ordered a Blu. Pronto! When I finally got it, I was disgusted with their version of menthol, and was sorely disappointed with the kit altogether. It just wasn't my thing, I guess.

So then I got a Volcano Magma-T starter after hearing only good things about the company itself, and I decided I wanted to pick up a couple of the XL Clearomizer CE2s they were selling, too, along with 3 bottles of juice. Of course, with my luck, they sent me a cracked Tank-O-Mizer... It worked, and then just died after being extra careful to remove it in order to try a clearo. I'm guessing some wire or whatever got twisted, or something. I dunno. I was disappointed, again, to say the least. Especially since I still haven't gotten any response from their CS after many attempts. Luckily, I found the clearos to be satisfying in spite of the finicky batteries - just room-fogging amounts of vapor. The problem, for me, was the vapor was pretty cool, and the batteries! Ugh! You have to hold them a certain way, at a certain angle, for them to even turn on! Not a huge deal, but it was made more frustrating if only because I just wanted something to be reliable! By that time, vaping was seeing very hit or miss. It just seemed like I was destined to not luck out with something that could just work. (Which is funny since I normally LOVE making hobbies out of tinkering with things.)

That 510 handled me long enough in order to buy a couple of KR808s and some juice from V4L. Those blew me away. So I figured I'd give the Volt from Smokeless Image a try since it seemed to be another good Kr8 set-up people were recommending to others. I bought the Premium Kit because of the 23% sale, and wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to miss out on anything that might make me finally stop looking for some other gear.

And I'm so glad I did! Wow. I got the Sweet Sampler, and the menthol, and every single one is just spectacular - something I wasn't expecting since the V4L's versions had given me a lot of doubt as to whether I was going to find good fruit flavors from somewhere other than Volcano. But, lo and behold, I couldn't be happier. The only thing I have found annoying is that one of the two batteries I received, for some reason, seems to have only a 3-second cut off time, and a flickery light. If only it had the cutoff that my other love, the Diamond Titan from V4L, gives me - I've never reached it, haha. But alas, the two different batteries are great in different ways.

If you've gotten this far into my post, I have a question hopefully someone can answer. Is that 3 second cutoff normal for the Volt? It's the only thing bothering me. It doesn't seem to me that it should be the case since the other one I received allows nearly twice the time for a pull. And, yes, I have actually timed it with a stopwatch since I thought I was just being "imaginative"/paranoid. I'd rather not have to get a manual, but I will if I need to the next time I want to pick up some cartos.

Thanks for reading! I'm sorry for this being too long - I don't normally post on forums so I'm kind of rusty at the art of being concise - especially when I'm able to sit here and type while vaping with my new pass-through! Yay!

Try to exchange the defective Volt battery - their site says 3 month warranty doesn't it?

And in the future I recommend manual batteries - not prone to that easy drag switch damage from leaks. Cartos leak exactly where an auto battery can be damaged. If that drag switch sticks it may not even be turning off between a primer drag and the real drag.

You might want to try selling the stuff that doesnt work so great in the classifieds, if the companies dont back their stuff. Just make sure you relate the issues with the items you sell/trade. One of the modders here might want to tinker with your stuff. At least it wouldnt be a total loss.

And I feel manual batteries are a "must" as well. I fried 3 of them before I decided to try a manual.

have to agree with everyone here about manual batteries being the way to go, more reliable and better control over when the device fires. as far as the possible defective battery goes its best to contact the vendor who should be able to take care of you. also I am not positive but I would think that you can use your v4l batts on the volt cartomizers if you prefer that setup(I don't have either so I can't verify but if the threads match it shouldn't cause a problem)

Thanks for the words of advice on picking up manual batteries instead. I kind of like the simplicity and eloquence that the auto batteries exude, but one must sacrifice form in order to reach a better sense of function, I guess. The technology will always getting better and better, so it probably wont be much of an issue in the future.

Luckily, though, Smokeless Image managed to get things settled by solving the problem within 20-30 minutes of nice CS support. Gave me a positive feeling about dealing with them again in the future. ... ( Hopefully for 10/20 second cutoffs on autos, and even more so for more cool toys arriving soon.)
Thanks for the help, fellas.

One more question. My magma came with a wall charger. It's the one I need to use in order to charge my stuff since the other one I got sent to me does nothing when charging anything, or using the passthrough. It's obnoxious. Any thoughts on that issue?

Yeah, the Diamond Titan XL batt works great on the Volt cartos. Lost flavour, TH was the same, but the vapor production was making massive clouds off that 4.2 full charge.
